I just started playing this mod last night and I'm already hooked.  I don't even know how I got on without it.  :D

Has anyone started a wiki for this mod at all? There is just so much new content that should be documented in some way. I'd like to be able to check the troop trees for each new faction if I could.

You should really have your own website for this work of art!
You've got a point. We actually have a sister site with a mini wiki but I don't know how much detail can be put in it. Since we have our main forum the sister site is more of a get away haven for the team.

It's actually tough for me to track all my changes too. I've done so much to the game only 1/5 of the changes are on the Features list.

Have you tried the 3.0 Beta?

That's the only one I've played. I like it a lot and have had pretty much zero problems with it even with using Win Server 2k8r2 instead of Win7 or something (I use my desktop as a server as well as for gaming). My comp has a lot of resources to throw at any application though (6core cpu 16gb ram and more than adequate vid card).

I did experience some very minor slow down in the first week of in-game play but I know there's a lot of world preparation going on behind the scenes during that time which when adding the fact that the map is enormous can result in some thread sync issues; one of the unfortunate side effects of multi-threaded programming in Windows... It's hard to keep the hamsters running at the same speed.  :)

I have been making heavy use of the "productive enterprise" system, well done for coming up with that one. I do wish there was a little more verbose finance accountability in the report screen (like a medieval quickbooks ) but yea I know there's already a lot on your plate with the other aspects of the game.

Do you have any good links you could share for me to learn how modding works in M&B? I'm bran new to the game as of a month ago but I'm not new to programming/scripting. I can't believe I didn't know about this game sooner... Some gamer I am  :|

Is your "mini wiki" site public? Can I get a link to that as well? Who knows, I may even be able to contribute to it while I learn the game for myself if you want.

there is a subforum here called the forge wich gives guides from step 1 to 11 or something about modding. But computice just learned it by playing with the system himself.

Yup, what MM said. I'll PM you sooner or later though. What we actually would need are texture artist and 3D modelers. If we can improve on what we already have the came can look even better.

Can you recruit actual soldiers from your own Cities? Because i don't feel like going to every town recruiting people and peasants and making them actual soldiers.

Also can i make alliances? I have my own Faction but i would like to know if i can make alliances , trade treaties stuff.

Edit: I found Mercenary Ronins that you can train to Samurais... are they only available through Taverns? Or you can get them from Towns/Factions etc.?

In 4.0 I'll come up with ways to recruit soldiers from inside your towns. The town economics are actually off balanced ATM. I have to make it so that town population has a major use too.

Yes, you actually can. Go to the diplomacy forums to find out how. It has a sub-forum just like this one. I'll add a "how-to" page inside the game later.

Ronin and Samurai will be contractible mercenary factions. So will the Black K. and a few others. At the moment I'm working on the game mechanics.

Oh, SOD actually has integrated Diplomacy then? (I ask because in their About section , where it says Mods with integrated diplomacy SOD doesn't show up)

Check the features list. SOD uses diplomacy as a base and goes from there.

Q:The game randomly crashes when I exit a town, before or after a battle, and when I save the game sometimes!
A:Try this: Go to the SOD_TC Module folder, then go inside the textures folder; after that, delete these texture files: ocean.dds, desert.dds, map_steppe.dds, mountain.dds, and plain.dds texture files.
Solution Provided by Bismarck
A:Some people suggest the following:
- Search and open rgl_config.txt
- Look for "render_buffer_size = 15"
- Increase the low amount of 15 to half of your graphic card's memory. In my case, it's 128.

I Did all this to prevent that bug yet it still crashes and this time even more randomly in a battle the game just shuts down please help...

Post your rgl_log.txt when it crashes for me again.

When the game crashes, go to your Warband install directory and the rgl_log.txt file will be there. Copy it and paste it here in the forum. If you have steam it'll be in the steam/steamapps/warband folder or something similar to it...

Your missing the: sod_warlords_title.ogg file...
Go ahead and redownload and reinstall 3.0B full; you could be missing other files as well. To be honest with you I see this very often. Check and see if it's in your music folder located in SOD's Module folder.

It's supposed to go into the music folder. Your download may be corrupted. Try downloading the 3.0B full again as there should be no errors upon extracting the file.
