I think he means the whole patch release process and subsequent hotfixes, and by consequence mod porting by the community, take way longer than they should.

I have a separate (non-Steam) installation with 1.143, so that I can play Native multiplayer on my Steam version and mods on the older version. However, The Deluge requires WSE. And since the registry directs WSE to my Steam installation, the versions are different and so the checksums don't match - therefore not letting me play. Any way to direct WSE to my normal installation without editing the registry?

Place it in the correct directory or execute it with the p "C:\blahblah\mb_warband.exe" argument.

It's easy to say "longer than they should" when you are not out there in the trenches fixing bugs. :)
What can be improved is the communication with the player and modding community, providing release date estimates and chosen details about what they are doing - this strategy could get them more positive and supportive attitude from the waiting crowd.

Just downloaded the 1.152 update (24.1 MB) a few minutes ago. Only a matter of time before we all can go back to our favorite mods and stop sucking our thumbs... :wink:

I was about to think that was a really weird about if you made such progress why you would stop. Because stopping means every owner of MB on steam would now no longer be able to play mods like Shogun, Deluge and Battle Time.

No. I'm slightly busy IRL, plus I didn't think porting was so tedious and boring (WSE2, I blame you).
It'll be done in the next few days, but I can't say exactly when.

I think it's never too late to say:

Thank you CMP for bringing warband back to me, after I discovered WSE a few months ago I could bring back the unlimited bodies option to my game, THAT brought it back to life..

I've been a huge fan of M&B Since 0.808 and when 1.334 took away my unlimited bodies, my game died (seeing all those corpses dissapear made this simulator become an arcade game)

So... THANKS AGAIN FOR BRINGING THIS GAME BACK TO LIFE FOR ME


P.S: Don't rush on the whole porting thing, I want it bad but it's not like you are being payed for it, take your time, I understand what having many projects at the same time can do to your mental health  :)
