You're seriously overpaying for that machine, ordering from BestBuy is a pretty bad idea. Even ordering a prebuilt from Newegg will be cheaper, while still netting a better computer.

If you don't know how to build a computer and don't want to learn how, the most cost effective way for price/performance is to ask someone on a forum to put together a list of parts in your price range, order them, then pay someone who knows how (or a store) money to put it together for you. Even if you pay for the parts and pay $50 for someone to put it together, it's still tons of savings. Prebuilts are ridiculously priced.

You could suggest a different store.  :)

Do that. Dont mess with prebuilt computers. When you have a complete list of parts, send it to a local store and ask them to assemble it. Thats what I have done. It worked fine. Cheapest solution as well.

Exactly. Only total schmucks buy prebuilt. And c'mon, assemble it yourself. It's not that hard, the days when you could fry your new machine by plugging the power cord into the wrong hole are long gone. Nowadays it's just a bunch of screws and cables that only fit where they're supposed to. If you can't build a computer from components, do yourself a favor and spend an afternoon learning it. It's one of those basic maintenance tasks that everyone should be able to perform, like replacing a flat tire. People who call a tow truck because they don't understand how spare tires work are the most pathetic sight you can see on the road (well, besides cyclists).

Because you're in for massive embarrassment when your geeky girlfriend finds out you've had someone else build it for you. If you can't say "it's custom, I built it myself", you're pretty much done for.

Nothing, really. It's those damn bikes of theirs that are a bitch to get out of your wheel arches.

Or have friends do it for you.

But I feel all this is awfully off-topic.

Guy with problems buying a new pc. Start a new thread where you ask for advice in the off-topic. Dont do it here. Just ask someone to create a list of parts for you.

It's too much of a pain in the ass to custom build a laptop, and I like my gaming portable.

So I started a new character today.

He's a Redguard. I originally wanted to focus on 1 handed, block and archery mostly (1 handed and shield), and I had the RP idea of sporting Imperial Light Armor throughout the game like a loyal and dedicated legionnaire.

Needless to say, the act is getting old pretty fast. I'm still focusing on 1 handed and shield, light armor, conjuration and archery. So now I conjure imbalanced weapons and still relatively puny atronachs, but they'll grow beefier as I grind that conjuration tree... I did cheese it a fair bit, so it's at 60, my highest skill. I'm like level 13. I can still only summon fire atronachs and they seem to be the biggest pushovers, aside from having high DPS? Been encountering some kick-ass necromancers who 3 hit them with swift zaps of ice and lightning. :O

Managing mana even with skilling the "halve mana cost" perks is being a bit tough, I have 160 magicka atm. It just regens so sloooowly, I feel inclined to equip this girly robe of conjuration I found earlier. I am wearing some looted dwarven boots that give +30 stamina and the rest is still all Imperial. I did look quite like the little soldier with my normal bow, arrows, shield and steel sword, but I guess I was seduced all too well by the awesomeness of Conjuration.

I mean would you think about eating it if you found a little TRex?

The size of a family does not mean that the family is well off or prestigious. Just means that your ancestor liked to get it on. :P

So which magic overhaul mod is the one you guys recommend? There's so many. :?

I was doing something similar except I was an Orc and I locked him in at level 7. It's been a surprising amount of fun though it took forever to set up all the perks to balance him out.
