No simple .txt fix, no, unfortunately.

I looked everywhere for my rgl_log file and i just couldn't find it. Im pretty sure its not there since on my pc I knew where it was. Even file search comes up with zero results. It doesnt matter really. i guess it really is related to my system or hardware.

ok never mind. i found rgl_log. don't know how I couldn't find it the first time. Just to summarize I have white trees problem and some strange artifacts in the background, but i noticed that they only seem to appear when on grass covered landscape... when there is snow covered landscape everything looks ok, even background with mountains.

Are your NVIDIA graphics drivers up to date? And are you playing on Dx9?

I have been having trouble with other games freezing recently. Alan Wake freezes every 10 minutes - but ARMA 2 works just fine (low FPS though). I was wondering if it might be down to my hardware, or overheating (CPU monitor shows low temperatures though)... BFBC 2 works fine too.


Ok, this is a bit of a longshot.  I noticed your rgl log reports 8 cores and that some games will play ok, and some will crash.  Arma 2 (works) is notorious for poor multi-core support. BF2 (according to google) defaults to a single core unless you edit a config setting.  Alan Wake (crashes) supposedly has good multi-core support. So... very circumstantial evidence, but try disabling some cores and see if the game is any more stable.  Note that I currently have a measly dual core CPU but a beast of a GPU and the game runs well up until battle sizes of about 200.

You said also that your drivers are up to date.   Does that include BIOS and OS chipset drivers?  I hope you can get this sorted!

Check your video card's temperature too. The CPU is less likely to overheat than the GPU while playing games, and the GPU's overheating can cause freezes or complete shutdown.

Are your NVIDIA graphics drivers up to date? And are you playing on Dx9?

Yes, my nvidia is up to date and i switched to dx9 yesterday, after reading in support that its common problem with dx7. I only found that thread yesterday somehow. Its gone now and it plays decent if i turn particle system off. thanks for help!

I have a problem when I make my character. After I chose that he is a nobles son/daughter and press done you are send to chose your flag, but for some reason I cant chose any of the flags (the game still runs and u can see and move the mouse but the screen is black). Also the flags have no skin for some reason (they are gray and unclear). I have M&B Warband pat. v1.153 and 2.5 Floris.

P.S.
The flags worked in v1.143.

Floris 2.5 is for warband 1.143, you will have to update to Floris 2.53 to be able to play warband 1.153.

Sorry im a noob at this, Im having a problem with the tournaments when i enter one i just crash and it tells me that windows is searching for a solution but it never does.... How do i change it to the native tournament?

I'm Warband 1153, with the launcher "Warband tamer" only when in the game "floris expanded" I want to do a tournament game crashes directly with no error message, I try to restart the game in DirectX 7 but does not change.

I just fixed that problem today. Try to re-download or re-install a clean copy of Warband, ideally from the Talewords website. That fixed the crash issues for me. :)

I recently installed the 2.53 full expanded pack on M&B 1.153 using the installer, but the weird thing is that some mods seem to be missing, like:

-The arenas are the same as the stock ones
-Some of the fighting areas are the same as the stock ones, while others are the new ones
-The castles are the same as the stock ones

And a few other graphical ones that I can't think of in the top of my head, although it seems like most of the gameplay ones work.

And I already tried reinstalling the pack and downloading the zip version as well.

I can download the Arena Overhaul manually, but the thing I'm worried about is if I'm missing out on other things too that I don't know.

My game chrashes everytime when I try to speak with the bandits to whom I shall talk in the first quest given by the merchant at the very beginning of the game. And sometimes the text transforms into symbols insted of letters when I talk to people.
Any idea?

Hello ! I'd like a little help in diagnosing a performance issue during battles :

The specs :
e8400 cpu
gigabyte ep43 ds3l mobo
3 gigs ddr2 6400 ram
512 mb 9800gtx graphic card
sata 7200rpm hd

-native : runs perfectly fine and fluid with no issue whatsoever on a battlesizer of 400
-floris expanded (i use to play basic before and loved it, just got that e8400 system so trying the expanded... OH WOW IT'S EVEN BETTER  :shock:) i ran different test to corner the problem:

Open battle (quick setup with custom battle):
200vs200 : the frame rate is ok, perfectly fluid while it moves BUT there's a micro stutter: every 1,5 sec it freezes for a couple millisecs or something.
160vs160: same but the freeze last noticeably less, it's almost not perceptible
Once again note the framerate is fluid, it's not that I have low fps, it's that every 1,5 sec or so there is no movement at all!

It seems to have nothing to do with graphics :
-I've tried various combination of texture and character details, from 30% to a 100%, and everything else rather low, but that does not changes anything
-I've changed the particle system back to native, but it dosnt change anything
- I've tried mixed and pure infantry battles, they do just the same
-I've put the textures minimods which remove normal maps (whatever they are :p) but it dosnt change anything performance-wise
-and the game is perfectly fluid on sieges ! even 200vs200 !
-the freeze subdue then completely dissapear as soldiers die

So that'd seem to point to a AI load problem on field battle, dosnt it? Are any new AI features from floris known to eat significantly more cpu than native ?

All tests are done in custom battle mod. I'd like to tweak the game to playable 400 battle sizer before I start :D
