Yes, but I was responding to what you said:

Interesting thing as well you may want to consider enabling the debug mode for a small amount of cheating if you want your own battle elephant because they just don't sell it anywhere.
It's "cheating" but it also doubles as a debug thing. Besides, you pay for it, and it isn't affected by your Trade score, so you'll be paying full price for any and all items you get this way. If any cheat feels uncheaty and completely right for me, this would be it.

Sorry I misunderstood, I'd still like a man hunter fortress for immersion value, along with mines that you can put slaves in and training camps you can leave soldiers in and some kind of surrender option for soldiers to gain prisoners because really the chances of anyone getting back up ever again after you just brained them with a war hammer is incredibly low.

On the other hand, I'm not a modder, I don't know how hard or easy this would be so I only suggest in the hopes that some of these brilliantly talented people can do it if by some pure chance they haven't thought of such things already.

If something like this doesn't already exist without my knowing it, it would be great to see a performance-based renown bonus after battles, similar to what the Tournament system enjoys. The game already tracks your kills per fight - this is just a logical extension of that.

For example, my 100 t7,000 troops descend upon a few dozen forest bandits. The renown gained from victory will be 0. But lets say I tell my men to hold position, then ride forward and defeat them all by myself. That should feed my reputation, no?

Yeah, i think amount of renown should be a combination of player's kills during the battle and overall dissadvantage vs enemy.. so if Player singlehandedly defeats all enemies while his army watches, he should get some positive renown... for that spectacle... in reality simple soldiers would make him look like a god himself for such deeds...

Another thought - Cheering. It would be great if I could hit a button that got me screaming along with the troops, holding my brand high. Always feels strange that I can't partake in the battle-madness that follows a crushing victory.

It's in the current version of PBOD (as that adds crouching and thus a new configurable key that it could be tied to). Will see if there's a relevant key/time to add it to for 2.54.

Would be nice to change the fief a player first gets. It is annoying how you always get one on the border that instantly gets raided and thus you can not pay your men.

btw, any plans to do Arena fights more interesting? Current system is quite boring, plus most of the time not worth the time spend.. What about allowing player to bet on how many opponents at once he can put down instead of those any vs any fights? Winnings could be lowered by player level vs the level of opponents so at late stage, when player is powerful he would not be able to win big sum of money / or he would have to face more men to get same win ratio?

The player gets one of the only fiefs that is still open. Typically, this is the poorest, and it is poorest because it is on the border and it constantly gets raided. And the king isn't going to strip land from another vassal to give it to some upstart, now is he ;)

Hire a marshal, councilor, assassin etc from your court that give bonuses/handicap based on personality/education and difficulty level. If possible, have the AI kings and vassals get random bonuses/handicap also. (Yes, similar to the other Paradox games).

Sorry if this has been suggested but I have already looked at the spreadsheet.

Isn't there way to achieve it through debug mode?

I would love some more armor variety for Swadian knights, at least just in the helmet department. Right now it seems the only helmet they can have is a bread loaf one.

another idea - what about changing the way how normal soldiers upgrade? instead of 7 predefined levels, normal soldiers could level up similar way as Heroes, but, if they reach certain level cap, it will be possible to upgrade them to different unit as it is right now. This way, longer you have certain soldiers, more experience they will get, and even if you dont upgrade them to higher tier unit, they might get better and better, so in the end, you can have level 40 Swadian Page, or Longbowmens...

level ups could be automatic based on different templates based on type of unit - infantry, archers or cavalry.

Out of all the ways to make money in this game with the mod relying on taxation would have to be one of the least efficient, you can make a killing from tournaments, you can round up bandits to sell or just participate in a battle without being in a faction between to other factions and collect gear and loot. You can set up your own industries in the towns around the map through the guild master of each town. You'd have to be riding around with 300 Hochmiesters to be running into money troubles if you did any of this.

If we're going to ask for a change in this how about the ability to send emissaries from your own party without having to ride back to your capital each time to make any kind of decision. (Assuming you rule your own faction).
