Warsword Conquest is a mod based on Warhammer fantasy battles game by Games Workshop.
This is total conversion for Warbands 1.143 and is single player only at moment.
The Kingdom of the Lizardmen is at full strength once again. The Lustria invasion force has returned from the Old World after doing what it set out to do and destroy the Chaos threat which was threatening to overwhelm the land across the ocean. They came home to find that it is their land that is being invaded as factions from the Old World as well as the far east have settled near their borders and are intent on colonising or taking the riches of the land. They are now on the defensive and must fight back against the new enemies.
This mod is a preview release of the main mod which will be released at a later date. You will find 7 factions in this release including the Empire and Nippon from the Invading countries and the main release will have many more including Bretonnia, Norse, Araby, Amazons, High Elves and more.
The factions:
(click to show/hide)Lizardmen: The New World is home to the ancient race of Lizardmen whose armies consist of tough Saurus' and nimble skinks. They are fierce hand to hand fighters and great riders who have even managed to tame the mighty triceratops as a steed. They are on the defensive but are more than prepared to face the danger.
Southland Dwarves: Cousins to the Old World Dwarves but Southland Dwarves tend to spend more of their time outside and on flatter lands rather than their mining kin overseas. Their clothes and accents, especially in the lower to mid level troops are of a very different style to common dwarves. Southland Dwarves still follow the slayers code and there are many mighty slayers marauding the New World.
Tomb Kings: The land of Nehekhara has always been feared but for the last 100 years has been pretty much a silent barren land. Rumours were even circulating that the mighty Kings had rested for good but the coming of the foreigners woke up the might hordes of Settra and the land is alive with the dead. It is something every faction has feared.
Forest Goblins: These primitive tribal creatures move en masse through the forests and are made up of lightening fast armies who ride giant wolves and squigs to support the vast green swarms of infantry and archers. They are often underrated by their enemies due to their lack of technological prowess but when the big conflicts are over their enemies are usually set straight:
Pirate Kingdom: At some point this faction is everyone's enemy. They are permanent residents in the New World who go after whatever riches are available. They have no cavalry but an awful lot of guns and they have united under a great pirate King and currently own more territory then they ever have before.
Nippon: The mainland of Nippon is embroiled in a bitter civil war but the Emperor is winning and he has come to the New World to claim some resources he has lost and also to secure some land to use for prisoners for the thousands of defeated enemies he does not wish to execute. A Nipponese army is full of multi talented samurais and ninjas who fight with skill and honour and are a match for any other army in the land.
Empire: The Emperor was amazed at the way the Lustrian Invasion force dealt with the forces of Chaos and has sent a major fleet across to their homeland to investigate the main continent and to establish trade colonies which will further enrich the treasury. No expense was spared by the Emperor and he sent the same mighty knights and greatswords you would see in his mainland armies. The whole world would see the might of the Empire.
Special Items:
(click to show/hide)Lords in Warsword conquest are tough opponents. They have big strength boosts to represent the 3 wounds they get in the tabletop game. They are also kitted out with the best equipment. The Kings of each factions and the Lords rich enough to own towns are also equipped with magic weapons and/or magic armour which gives them massive boosts to their offence/defence.
If you would like to be like the above characters and equip yourself with special weapons and armour then you need to find the Wizards Markas the Wise and Cyrus the bright and purchase them from them when you are capable.
Markas (weapons) and Cyrus (armour) will sell to you freely when you are level 15 or above but if you wish to get your hands on one then there is a way you can do it.
Every time you win a tournament you receive a winner’s medal and if you bring him 5 winner’s medals then you are allowed to buy from him once and then you will need another 5 or be level 15.
Bear in mind how much money you have if you are going in 5 medals.
You don’t want to waste the medals by not having enough
If you have no trade skill then you will need this kind of ballpark:
Armours will cost 50,000 to 80,000. Lower level weapons will cost 7000 - 20000 and higher weapons will cost 20000 to 60000.
Tournaments:
(click to show/hide)Tournaments in warsword have different teams and characters than native and you get to use the armour you use in battle in them.
They are also harder than native especially if a lord joins in, even more so if a special lord with tough armour or high strength joins.
There are 5 new tournament characters in the mod who make frequent appearences
1) Sensai Miyachi: A seasoned monk with phenomenal skills .
2) Captain Skinner: A rowdy pirate who has decided to earn his fortune rather than steal it.
3) Fallrak Trollcrusher: An aged slayer who is having a break from searching for his death.
4) Necalli: An undead tournament champion who fights on even after death.
5) Xarng-arbr Kneechoppa: An Orc Warboss with a relentless attitude
There are also 6 tournament teams who fight it out for ultimate glory
Landlubbers:
These are the drunken rabble of the pirate kingdom who get drunk and decide that they can win the biggest tournaments in the land. They rarely last past the second round at most.
Morrslieb Gors:
These enraged beastmen love the blood and guts of battle. They have proven their worth on the field and now wants to take the pride away from the warriors in the arena by defeating them at their own sport.
Swamp hunters:
Saurus' tend to stick to the battlefield but these long distance hunters discovered the New World tournaments by chance 150 years ago and brought them to the towns of Lustria. They have also had their own team ever since.
Waaagh Boyz:
These Orcs have realised that the only legal way to bash the heads of other races outside of their kingdom is to compete in tournaments. These guys don’t care about the fame or the fortune or the titles, they only want to have a brutal ruckus.
Bugman’s Rangers:
Bugman’s Rangers are training up for the second campaign against the Goblins and are using the Old World’s tournaments as the stage. They are deadly with crossbows and 2 handed weapons.
Old Mountain Monk:
These martial arts masters are trained with a multitude of weapons and dedicate their lives to training for the tournaments and winning for the Emperors honour.
Good luck competing in the tournaments. They are more difficult than native and there are no cavalry troops involved.
The companions:
(click to show/hide)Gotrek: Legend, enough said
Felix: Legend, enough said
Mathias Thulmann: A famous witch hunter
Takeda: A Samurai master
Mamexi: A vibrant skink youth
Kachiri: A fierce Amazonian warrior

Bug: A drug addicted goblin
Eleanor: A tricksy pirate
Nakwatcha: A young amazonian woman

Lord Benrir:
Wow, great! I love ancient Egypt! But the lizardman's head seems pretty small to me. :?
Arzeal:
Pharaoh-Necromancer Army of Skeletons? Can we get mummies? :P
Tempest1295:
I agree about the lizardman statement, the skink's head should be larger. Maybe could shrink model a little if can find out how as well.
