Is there any idea of when this mode is coming out?
Nope, no release date estimated. We still got a lot of work to do.

We will begin on the troop trees, then troops and the items for the troops rather soon, if not it already started. Hopefully we can also start to work on the world map soon and it's locations, so the basic elements for the mod are then being worked upon. But also we will invest some more time in the crafting system, so you can craft your own weapons. We still plan to redo the sieges, but that is something for later. Also new companions and new quests will take a lot of time. But yeah, progress is being made, but as I said earlier, still a lot of work to do ;).

Most of the work though will be invested into the troops, world map, scenes and items I think. If we want it nicely balanced and provide an immerse Redwall experience for the players. And that is mostly a process of implanting, testing, evaluating, adjust, test, and so on until you get it as you want it to be.

Re: [W][S] Redwall: Vermin Resurgence: Preview on Fire Spreading
« Reply #1533 on: May 13, 2012, 06:29:44 AM »
@Jezze: Fire thing looks great! My only concern is how much it will affect the performance. In my experience, smoke and fire particles have always been responsible for noticeable lagging on my CPU. Considering that it has the ability to spread, I'm wondering how much more magnified that effect would be when the whole map is shrouded in smoke and flame...

Of course, I am unfamiliar with the mechanics behind the design, so it might be that my fears are unfounded. Best of luck! Hoping to see some previews of animal models soon
c'est la vie.

It just occurred to me. Will we be having a raised max troop cap in battles and in war parties?

Because it seems to me that the standard Warband troop numbers are highly inaccurate to the books.

Would depend on your system though mostly. And it will be used in the more scripted events, so I doubt it would occur that much in playing the module. But yeah, I can imagine it can cause some lag. I also wouldn't know how this lag could be reduced, so we could still use this on a larger scale.

I will run some tests in the future, and we should also test this during any alpha/beta once that one is released.

Why not? It would depend on what kind of parties you would apply to it. I could imagine that Vermin hordes would be larger than any Hare war party. Maybe you can post about your ideas about this on our forum, so we can work it out.

well the normal amount of troops in the redwall books were actually smaller than warband...with the exception of vermin hordes and key places like redwall or salamandastron

On rare occasions, there are ridiculously large armies of like 1000 vermin at once, but usually, they are smaller than 300.

I've been excitedly awaiting this mod. Looks like it could be really awesome.
Some of the things you fine gentlemice have been working on might be of interest to other modders. It might be an idea to make things like tails or "the fire thing"- available to be made use of. It might be a way of getting more people interested in the redwall mod too (if they aren't aware of the source material).

Maybe. To be honest, I am not a real fan of making the work OSP before the mod itself has been released. Although you have a point there.

I see you put our mod and several other's on the "none lol list" Might I suggest that you put links to those mods pages in your sig?
