Bandit tokens
« on: October 06, 2010, 10:35:06 PM »
IMHO, citizens of calradia should be much more grateful of you for killing off those angry bandits. I'm suggesting a stackable "bandit coin" that "realistically" all calradian bandits carry, and they can be turned in for, say, 5 denars each. So, along with the usual haul of equipment that bandits drop, they drop one token for every one of them that was killed in battle. This would add some support to people that like to kill bandits for a living earlygame.

Could be good, but maybe they carry a flag? and you give it to a Constable (CONSTABLE HARECK. I just nostalgia'd) and he gives you money in return it's just kind of stupid for bandits to carry around 'tokens'.
Go here I know your interested now

Like the idea, only I wouldn't wanna be going around grabbing all that for so little...
like the flag idea, I would like to see it taken a little further, basically as a new quest.
You just defeated a group of looters, when one of your companions comes to you and says "Hey  ***, I think I've seen this guy before, on a wanted poster in the last town we were in, maybe we should take him in to confim it?" Chances are slim to find one (Slimmer still to capture alive for $$$$), but big payout in the town in question 1-2000 denar for a looter seems like a hell of a deal (again, like a 1% chance of it happening).
Your opinion?

Outlaws in medieval times used to carry around marked coins showing their "dis-allegiance" to the king/lord. Bandits wouldn't be organized enough to carry flags.

We can also have quests to collect 10 bandit coins, 5 sea raider helmets, and 15 looter tails!

Yea... no.

I think a rep increase with the towns and village which in it's area you killed those outlaw would be a better idea.

That would make it to easy to gain a good relationship with fiefs.

Also why tokens? Why not just more money?

And fief relation should slowly decline to 0 again, so you have to keep doing things for them to keep them happy. :P
Nords ruled by King Ragnar, Khergits ruled by Sanjar Khan, Rhodoks ruled by King Graveth, Swadians ruled by King Harlaus, Vaegirs ruled by King Yaroglek. All those peoples live, fight, and die in the continent of Calradia. The Nords and Rhodoks field solely infantry and archers, the Swadians and Vaegirs have infantry, archers and cavalry and the Khergit field almost exclusively cavalry. No such things as "infarty" or "calvary" exist. Play Vikingr!
