conversation.txt question

Thanks to Vinz Klortho, conversation.txt makes a lot of sense.  However, I'd like to know if there is a way to create variables?  I can find a couple that I can reuse, but I don't want to do anything that will cause problems in future versions.

armagan, any way to safely use some new variables?  "Wait until the mod tools come out" is an acceptable answer. "33555500 - 33555800 are safe to use" would also be acceptable.  :)

Sorry, I must have missed this question.

There are 512 variables in version 0.633. The first 483 are used. 484 - 511 should be free to use.

Actually, I hadn't realized tere were so few free variables until I went to check it before posting here. I will be increasing the number to something like 10000 but doing that will break savegame compatibility so I may not be able to do that anytime soon.
