Power color HD 2900 XT Dual DVI HDMI 1GB GDDR4 Ati Radeon Video card with crossfire. DX 10 card..

I know its not the latest card but it should not of had any problems...

i put an extra fan in the pc to keep it cool..

The area i have the pc it sits far enough away from the wall and my monitor. To not cause any extra heat tho my case is small and things are a bit crowed in there...

The card required atleast 500w powersource so i bought a 750w.GW-760sel Super Power supply

You probably have a faulty card, I don't see any other explanation. Is anything in your system overclocked?

That card is a few generations old. Perhaps you can ask your friend to return the money (or at least ask for an 80% refund), seeing how it only lasted you 2 months.

Also, the power supply may or may not cause trouble even though it states 750W.

Pffffft, ridicolous

You had a faulty card, better you go and buy a new one instead of insulting a software

The game can be frame-limited.  Max frame rate.  Set to whatever your monitor can handle.  Don't set it higher than that, there's no good reason to.

If your video card's truly burned out (I presume you've had this confirmed in another box), then it should be RMA'd, like they said, unless you were doing something silly like OC'ing it.

The card is years old.

I doubt it still has a warranty.  Sorry for my rudeness, by the way, this post caught me in a bad mood.

WTF? Do you have an idea of what are you saying?

Its like say "I opened a .txt too large and my Pentium 4 exploded!"

WTF has high frame rates to do with your card dieing? If that was true i could shoot Quake 3 and kill 50% of the PCs that i find.

That radeon, if i recall correctly, wasnt a very good card. Pretty hot and bad design. Probably it went off just cuz that. Watch out cuz maybe your PSU is the issue. If it has a fuckd up capacitor then it could go "poof" any moment.

There is almost no way that a software could kill a hardware part UNLESS hardware was faulty. I had a Pentium 4 PC runing with a faulty PSU at 80ºC (90ºC under load) all the day, for half a year, and it didnt die (then i realized that Pentium 4 might rock actually), it rebooted countless times cuz the temps. I still have it actually with a new PSU and still function as expected. And thats 2006 tech.

Should be.  Try out the demo to check accurately.  You might have to play in DirectX 7 mode because of the chipset.

In order to prevent video card overheating use
Vsync
Or
Vertical Sync
This limits FPS to 60 (or any other value your monitor can handle), so you don't lose anything and your card doesn't get overused. You can force it in all applications using driver settings.

From the description of the problem, its not game's fault (otherwise we would all have issues like that). I recommend installing testing software and checking if it crashes as well. If it does, the problem wasn't fixed yet and another video card may follow the first one.

In that case, don't take used videocards, also don't give any components to anyone.

Hmm, you say ArmA II ? I just play ArmA: Armed Assault, my old baby is still running it.

But you have to agree, it doesn't lag like hell. :)

That card is older, if you bought it back when it first came out chances are that old age is what killed it not Warband. Not sure how good your cooling was but I'd say the heat killed it or it dust fried it.
