Can't Rescue Lords from Castles and Towns

So, I recieved a quest from the Nords to rescue Jarl Irya from Kelredan Castle. After I killed the prison guard, I couldn't open the door. I killed all of the other people surrounding the castle, and it wouldn't work. And, I tried to ransom him, but I couldn't figure out how.

So, I decided to rescue Jarl Irya again, who was imprisoned in Uxhall. So, Same thing. I can't open the door after I kill the prison guy. I checked and he IS in there.

I have no idea what is possibly wrong. Any help?  :?

Talk to the guards.  You can get the key, but only after you've talked to him and offered to bribe him.

And you took the dialogue that says "there's some gold over there", and he started to alert everybody?

Just checking- I haven't messed with this quest at all, and last time I checked, it worked...

Where is the option there is gold over there? What I do is -

Can I see a prisoner / I think you dropped your purse of 100 gold over there. Then it auto enters me into the dungeons but I can't do anything. Then, I choose -

Can I see a prisoner / Give me the keys to the cell now! Then after I killed him, I still couldn't open the door.
