[S] Magus Mod for M&B:WB [REL]

VERSION 1.7 RELEASED, FINAL RELEASE (same download link as before)

So ive released a new mod for native that adds alot of new troops to the native troop tree.

heres the description from M&B repository:

A complete makeover of the native troop trees for Mount & Blade: Warband adding alot of new units based on medieval european and middle-eastern cultures.

Swadians are based on the English and French kingdoms. Heavy infantry, longbowmen and Knights.
Vaegirs are based on the Russians (kiev and novgorod city-states). Heavy axe-wielding infantry, Viking infantry and Heavy Archers.
Nords are based on the Scandinavian kingdoms (sweden, norway and denmark). Focusing either on traditional viking-era units like huscarls and viking raiders or on more modern medieval units like pikemen and knights (the choice is yours).
Sarranids are based on the Ottoman and Egyptian empires. Very varied and balanced unit-roster including heavy cavalry, mounted archers and mixed infantry.
Khergits are based on the mongols and other eastern kingdoms. Focusing heavily on mounted units with the best archers of all factions.
Rhodoks are based on the Byzantine (East Roman) empire. Complete remake of the Rhodok faction with a very varied and balanced unit-roster able to stand toe-to-toe against most other factions.
Mercenaries: Fleshed out with many new units making the Mercenary choice a more interesting one. Very mixed equipment now, not only western european stuff.

UPDATE: DUE TO SOME RECENT EVENTS I HAVE DECIDED THAT IF ANYONE WANTS TO USE MY TROOP TREE FROM THIS MOD THEY WILL HAVE TO ASK ME FOR PERMISSION AND IF THEY WANT TO CHANGE IT THEY WILL HAVE TO ASK FOR PERMISSION FOR THAT TOO. (and no, this isnt Monnikjes fault, its some of his "followers")

Nords ruled by King Ragnar, Khergits ruled by Sanjar Khan, Rhodoks ruled by King Graveth, Swadians ruled by King Harlaus, Vaegirs ruled by King Yaroglek. All those peoples live, fight, and die in the continent of Calradia. The Nords and Rhodoks field solely infantry and archers, the Swadians and Vaegirs have infantry, archers and cavalry and the Khergit field almost exclusively cavalry. No such things as "infarty" or "calvary" exist. Play Vikingr!

Might be easier if you also explain that people who want to use this should copy their Native folder and put your troops.txt in it instead of the standard one.

fantastic troop trees. I am normally a whore for the Nords, but the Swadian longbowmen have shifted me to the service of Harlaus. Its all well thought-out, I actually hope you expand it into a full fledged mod with new items etc etc.

I actually managed to down one of them once, get their weapon and shield and down the rest.
Seriously gave me a half-boner after I did that - taught me more about LIFE than The Expendables did.

im actually thinking of including the more warhorses mod into it...

im also thinking of a re-naming-of-calradia mod that changes all the names of the towns, castles and villages to more fitting names according to my mod (so more nordic sounding names for nord villages and so on)

sounds great to me. I have always wondered where they got the names for villages... they seem all jumbled and not belonging to any specific cultural pattern.

Updated the file to version 1.1 after (hopefully) fixing a bug where swadian knights had no weapons.
im not as crazy as i look... im loads crazier than that!

well there seems to be little interest in this mod, so i will support it sparingly...
version 1.4 should be more or less bug free, but ill keep working on it on my own and i might update it sometime in the future..

I am absolutely loving the Swadian faction. These are the troops trees Warband should have had. I really like the equipment of lower tier troops, I totally buy the idea that these guys are not soldiers, but farmers carrying their hunting longbows into battle. Great job.

thanx... im currently up to version 1.7 for my own version...
ive done quite alot to the swadian faction now. Ive added some new equipment (narfs plate armor pack and more warhorses mod) so the lancers and other top tier swadians now wear the very best armor.

ive also finally gotten around to changing the manhunter units a bit...

i might release the new version sometime, but right now im just playing it for my own enjoyment.
