Finally gave up. Tried to get it working for three hours.
I red the whole post and found nothing that worked for me.
The only thing I see is my server in Local Area Network not on Internet.
And if one of my friends try to join my LAN Server true Hamachi it says Incorret key, that is impossible because we both play it though steam.

Can someone please help me and try to figure out how to solve this LAN problem! :D

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I'm thinking of buying a server, but what system stats I need to run a ~20 slot server smoothly?

From my experience the system strain is minimal. A 3ghz singlecore, 1gb ram, should do. I think. Don't quote me on that though.

I'd personally not try. It maybe possible, don't get me wrong. But with a VPS you don't have any "real" portion when it comes to the CPU. Which with CPU-intensive games like this is less then ideal, in my opinion. Rather get a cheap dedi, I think... That said if you insist on trying, the server software doesn't seem to be much of a multicore fan nor a rammongerer. So a 1GB ram server with a single assigned core hopefully of 2 to 3 ghz should do the job for most... I do suggest trying before buying, though.

Any idea what's up if I change name of my server and now it no longer appears on list? Was fine before but I did that and now it's been hours, restarted and stopped-started it a bunch of times.

Ok here is my situation. The server works, took awhile but it works. My Server is for Napoleonic Wars. Here are my questions...

1.Why can't I use or see the administrator panel in game, Is that only for Lan? also I can't see anything related to chat in the game, no causalities damage,no team chat, etc. However in the log I can, but that's a pain to keep doing.

2. I can only set up the factions through the submit poll in game. I believe you can do this in the "Start_gamemode" however it is easier to do it in game, if only I had the administrator panel.

3.Do I also have to retype in the server name, message, and other customization every time I start up the server?

4. This question is kind of pointless but, How can I make my chat messages pink in game like all the other admins, I think its cool lol.

Other than those questions I believe I'm good. Thanks for you time in making this guide it really helped, its just that I'm very new to this and I have trouble understanding the ways in which you make a server. But you got to start somewhere.

Please respond soon Thanks again!!

Well this is actually 2 questions.

You will need to login to the server as admin.  The way you do this is type in the admin password into the password box on the server browser as you are joining the game.  You set the admin password in the .txt file you use to launch your game.  Default is "Sample.txt" and the command is "set_pass_admin".  A full list of commands can be found in "Readme.txt" in the Dedicated Server folder.

A "no text" issue was talked about a few pages back.  Nothing to do with the server afaik.  Something is not right if you cannot read chat, probably with your install.  Cross diag the problem on other servers to see if it is all or just yours.

Well you will need to "load" the factions in the .txt file described above.  They should be there already if NW is the same as WB.  You can also delete factions this way if there is one you do not wish to be in the rotation.
Once that is done/verified, changing maps/factions is done in the admin panel, accessed as explained above.

Setup in the .txt file.  The command is "set_server_name" and "set_welcome_message" .

This is done via an admin mod.  Assuming that Vincenzo is the creator of NW, it has his admin controls built in.  Not sure what other admin mods are compatible with NW.

Thanks a lot however I still have a few more concerns, I don't understand these commands clearly...

(Read me txt) set_map <map_id/map_name>
(Read me txt) add_map <map_id/map_name>
(Read me txt) add_factions fac_kingdom_5 fac_kingdom_5
(Sample_Gamemode txt) add_factions <faction_id/faction_name> <faction_id/faction_name>
(Sample_Gamemode txt) add_map multi_scene_2
(Sample_Gamemode txt) set_map multi_scene_1

What is the map/faction id??is it a number of any kind?
Why are there many ways to write factions/maps will all the ways work?
When your setting the map its the default starting map?
When you add a map is that the next map in the cycle?
What are the multi's and scene's in the map commands??

Also my chat doesn't work when I join my own server and in others while I run the dedicated server. However when I'm not running the dedicates server it works fine. I know you told me to look on other forums but I can't find any. If you can help me that would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Answer: Usually numbers.  In native the factions are 1 - 6.  Assuming the same for NW.  You can find them listed in the module system file Factions.py or do some searching in that forum.  I would think that all the factions would be loaded from the beginning in a standard setup .txt file that would launch Nw.

Why are there many ways to write factions/maps will all the ways work?
...
What are the multi's and scene's in the map commands??

Answer: There are not many ways to write factions or maps, there is only one as designated by the coding.  So the code does not know France or Prussia (or whatever factions NW has), it only knows faction_1 or faction_2 ect.  Same with maps.
The "multi_scene" is not scripting or anything, it is the file designation in which that map is.  So in the Sceneobj folder you will find a .sco file matching the map's desination.  Example:  multi_scene_1 in Native = Ruins

When your setting the map its the default starting map?
When you add a map is that the next map in the cycle?

Answer: Yes to both.

It was one page back.  A quick search for "chat" found it immediately.  Look before not finding something.   :x

Would either PM that guy and see if he found a fix or try the NW forums for a fix.
