yeh i also try to take screenshots on normal warband but what i do is press print screen then paste it onto a paint program but for some reason lately the pasted picture is just a massive black box

ctrl + insert to take screenshots.
On Windows 7(and Vista too, most likely), they are saved in your 'My Documents".
