i used to make a point of knowing this kind of thing. In fact, I still do, but my focus has moved to Germany.

Yesterday was the second annual meeting of the Viking Gentlemen's Beer Appreciation Club. Much beer was had, and it was great. Double Dog, from the Flying Dog brewery in Maryland, was particularly good, and I recommend it. Furthermore, loads of beer with 12 courses leaves you a broken man the next day.

"When the castle falls, all those inside will be put to the sword. Your herds will be butchered, your godswood will be felled, your keeps and towers will burn. I'll pull your walls down, and divert the Tumblestone over the ruins. By the time I'm done no man will ever know that a castle once stood here." Jaime got to his feet. My exam today may have been a dismal failure (although it may notif what I managed to write was at least vaguely useful, although it would have helped if I'd finished my calculations).

Hence vodka is required. It shall shall soothe all ills, by making tommorrow morning's pain sufficient to eclipse them. Unlike whisky, which makes me want to find a kilt & wave my sword around violently (innuendos welcomed if what I'm told about an old party is true).
if my posts veer off on a tangent (from the post itself, never mind the thread) blame the whisky/ brandy/ rum/ gin/ vodka/ absinthe/ port/ wine/ guinness/ cider/ ale/ mead.
or just call me mad........ you'll still be right

Being drunk is fun.
Now if only I had some decent enough company to do it again before another half a year rolls past.

My friends, I come pondering a couple of things.

1. Best way to drink mead?
2. Anybody have any preferred brand/type of mead that they recommend? I have only tried one type and I enjoy it and I want to discover others.

1 - From a horn. D'uh!

2 - I could point you to a couple of brands. But I don't think they export out of Norway.

I don't own a horn. Yet.  :(

I have a big bottle of this stuff, but I feel bad just drinking it straight from the bottle.

And hmm, that's a shame. Not know any un-Norwegy mead?

A nice ceramic goblet should do well to preserve the aroma too. If that's easier to come by.
