Finished reading Dune and my favorite bits from World War Z. Gonna work up the willpower to try Path of Daggers, but with no Matt in that book, I don't want to read about whiny arrogent women and an emo guy. Perhaps Perrin will make up for it but I don't have many hopes.

On the other hand, The Butlerian Jihad looks quite good and has been calling me for the past week.

Just finished Shöhei Öoka's Fires on the Plain and I'll soon start reading Astrid Lingren's Mio min Mio (Mio, My Son).
Ho! Ukko, god on high, the father that rules the sky, bring the swords of a thousand men, the sabres of a hundred braves, that won't glance off against a bone, that will not break upon a skull, as I am going on a war, to a combat hand to hand, to mighty battle-fields, to those slaughter-plains where the blood reaches up to the leg, the red blood to the knee.

Gardens of the Moon - Steven Erikson

I'm one book behind. I'm amazed that it seems to have turned into a parable about the evils of capitalism and global warming  :o

EDIT: misread that  as Toll the Hounds, somehow

A small book called The Summing Up by Maugham.
It is isn't an autobiography, but more of him discussing his writing and philosophy behind it; about what shaped it.
Really great, especially for someone interested in writing.

I'm suprised how much Erikson's Malazan Books of the Fallen remind me of Glen Cook's Black Company series: for example the super mighty mages and fairly complicated plots.

Lustrum by Robert Harris. Never thought that Marcus Tullius Cicero could be interesting.
Their hair may be thinning,
their livers may be failing,
their hearts may be stopping,
but the rock never dies.
