I just remembered something weirdly similar to Marius rebellion. Brazil's proclamation of the republic happened exactly like this (I'm not exaggerating):
*Marshall wakes up*
Marshall: Eh, f*** it (Deodoro rebels against the empire)
*Marshall goes to the royal square and says*: "long live the republic!"
*Marshall goes back to bed (around noon)*
It happened just like that. Dude woke up, crossed the square, led the army waiting there for him, shouted something, then went back home, while everyone else was celebrating.
