Grandmaster Knight
1)Why aren’t bandits pillaging the villages?
2)Why don't we attack bandit hideouts directly?
3)Why can't we command armies when we are a king?
4)Why are policies so inadequate?
5)Why marriages have no political impact?
6)Why can't we challenge the lords to a duel?
7)Why can't we be an official mercenary group (like the legion of the betrayed)
:cool:Why is the NPC death rate in battles so low?
9)Why can't we invite rebels to our kingdom?
10)Why can't we marry our comrades?
11)Why can't we send soldiers to our villages?

As to why, its just not progammed that way

That being said some of your points is definite valid.

As for the merc clans atm its because they arent part of a kingdome, and thus you cant recruit them.
They are kind of like their own "free kingdome" so to speak.

"political impact" of marraige that can be argued over, as you do get high relations with the clan you got the person from.
This high relation means that when it comes to voteing for fiefs - you are more likely to get their vote.
I agree with the sentiment that its not "as good as it should/could be".

As for the npc death in battles that is rng though, so in 1 of my plays I had 1 of the Vlandian clans be wiped out by year 1.
Dey Cortain which isnt a small family.
Ideally though they would add in a slider so players could get the experience they want.
I personally think its right now, it happends from time to time.
However I get it - good armors did save people in battle to put it that way, but when I run a couched lance full charge through the head of the npc I'm kind of thinking if they survived it would have caused them some trauma that made them not able to lead etc they day after.
Longer recovery time for gravely wounded lords perhaps?

As for 10 there is mods for that if you are on pc.
With mods you can actually marry anyone, just random npc's in villages etc.

They can barely get the basegame to run without Bugs, saying nothing of the unfixed MP that has obvious glitches and exploits for years and you want them to do all that? 😂 I trust any modder do any and all of these things any time, but not TW. Just look at how far Warband was modded (which in itself was a stable game unlike Bannerlord). Either pick up coding and make your own scripts or wait for something like this to be realeased on the Nexus.

1)Why aren’t bandits pillaging the villages?
YES ! Obviously ! Probably because, at the beginning, villages are fairly weak compared to bandit groups. There are quests related to this - Deserters blackmailing villages etc
3)Why can't we command armies when we are a king?
You can, I do it all the time.
4)Why are policies so inadequate?
These policies are based on history, all mashed together. Yes, we do need better ones
5)Why marriages have no political impact?
Yes, we need late game depth.
6)Why can't we challenge the lords to a duel?
Good point.
7)Why can't we be an official mercenary group (like the legion of the betrayed)
Yes, that would be cool.
11)Why can't we send soldiers to our villages?
YES ! essential as villages are so vulnerable ! Plus we need the ability to fight village battles.

By directing the armies, I mean "siege x city, defend y city or "wait in x city". I don't think there is such a system.

Warband had these options ? from memory ? or was it VC ?

Devs seem to be porting WB features into BL so hopefully in the future.
It was in PoP and a few other big mod conversions. But it wasn't in vanilla Warband. But most lords would patrol around their own towns/castles/village and curtail or at least reduce bandits and raiding. One of my biggest issues with this game is the lack of control that we have of our clan as a lord and our kingdom as ruler. It's not suppose to be a democracy. It's a feudal kingdom, so you do what your king or lord tells you or you're :poop: out of luck.
I don't have a problem with lords voting on polices but ultimately you as a king/queen should have the final say. You can overrule your lords but it's going to upset them and keep doing it eventually it will piss them off and they defect or not answer the call to war. But the polices need to make sense because there are too many of them that are just counterproductive and lords will still vote for them because of "reasons". I'm ok with upsides and downsides to policies but way too many of them just hamstring you badly.

We have bandits attacking villagers once they leave the safety of the village. If this were to be implemented, the smaller bandit parties would still not attack a village if it has a large militia. It would be cool, if the player or a large party would destroy the militia and then the bandits would keep destroying the village over and over. It would make for an interesting tactic for wars. Leave the Hideouts alone if they are near your enemies villages and allow them to "help" you.

It would make sense, especially later in the game when you see bandit parties of 100+ men strong. But then again, it's never going to happen at this stage of development...
I still remember many years ago way before EA when being a "criminal" rather than the useless alley we ended up getting, used to make me dream of making contacts with bandits and perhaps bribe them into attacking a specific lord's villages to damage them financially.
But just like the total lack of politics, it's never going to happen unfortunately, maybe in a DLC a few years down the line.
