Real life can be hard enough. A game should never be so tough that you can never win, but it needs to be challenging. I think M&B hits a good balance between too easy and too hard on the highest difficulty setting.

I can't get through the trainer at the highest level. So, I pretty much won't up the difficulty setting, even though I can manage the rest of the game there. Until I get through that damned trainer, it would feel like cheating to up my difficulty.

So when you lose a fight or two in the training dungeon you just give up and turn the difficulty down? It can get annoying when you lose the last match.

Pretty much, the way I figure it is that until I can get good enough to make it through, I shouldn't change the setting because I will not enjoy the early levels of the game at all. I damn near made it through in 1066 (the combat seems smoother to me, for some reason); but had to give it up, eventually. It's really hard for me to beat the staff-armed opponents with full damage on.
