In the 1772. year of our Lord, the last stand of freedom in Europe – Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth – has fallen. Partitioned by three, greedy neighbors (Prussia, Austria and Russia), in the next two decades it has lost all of it’s territories. But three, faithful to it’s ideas nations, never lost their spirit and never gave up. Poles, Lithuanians and also Ruthenians were just waiting for the moment to national uprising against the tyranny and oppression. Opportunity came to their lands in the year 1806, when armies of Napoleonic France entered the Greater Poland. Emperor Napoleon waked the hope and wrath in the Polish, Lithuanian and Ruthenian hearts, so our fathers became his most loyal allies. Exactly… the freedom of common fatherland was very close!
“Družyna” is the Slavic word for a band of soldiers (in that case the band of fighters for freedom) and the “Respublika” means exactly “Commonwealth” in languages of it’s nations. Even if today there are many arguments between our people, we are the part of the generation, what still believe in the our old brotherhood. We want to stand side by side on the battlefields of Napoleonic Era and fight together against the tyranny and oppression of absolute monarchs of Europe! We will fight until we will gain the freedom for our lands and until we will be united again! “Rzeczpospolita” shall rise and be victorious!

We are NW cavalry regiment, which is reenacting the most typical for late Commonwealth cavalry unit – uhlans. Polish, Lithuanian and Cossack lancers were famous across whole Europe, then we believe, that their fame will bring us a luck in thousands of battles. We are playing mostly as French Empire (cause of Polish units) and Russian Empire (cause of Lithuanian and Ruthenian units). Also, we are trying to restore old, good relationships between our nations – if you are from Poland, Belarus or Ukraine (or you are friendly foreigner
