I'd put cmpxchg8b on the scripters... can't get much better than him in Taleworlds forums.

Could be perspective you never know. I hate photosourced textures like that though... they look off ingame. Unless it's fully made like it... Tastes differ.

Btw, sometime ago i posted I needed to learn how to do real modeling, this is why: That thing's make of 14 different objects each with 1024 verts (64x64 grid). This is due to a limitation to were i want to use it. Also makes me not be able to extrude (or any add/remove vert operation), and doesn't allow the use of proper UV mapping. It partly sucks but some people can do so much good...

i have used shaders
1) for metal helmet part specular_shader_noskin_bump_high
2)but for plumes simple_shader
(cause all others shaders cant handle the light correctly with white or nearly white texture parts,
this also means that plumes don't need normal and spectacular map cause simple_shader cant effect it)
by the way i am using dxt5 for all models
and 2740 flag
and it is not osp
by the way starting with those helmets i have used different methods
1 what i did i painted just a layered height map 2048x2048
2 when i had good height map i easily can convert it to normal map and also get spectacular map
Edit: normal and spectacular map = 80% height map + 20% texture influence
and at the end using overlays of height map and individuals layers i did main texture
edit: thanks Ginthus i just found that mine gimp dds converter is pretty week
