This is the new RP thread, here we will talk about past and upcoming RP events.
As the title says, this is not the finished post, i will be adding to it over the next week or so.
The titles are simple.

The Globe's Official rules.
Most important rules, if you break one of these at an event, you will be put on trial in game by any leaders that are at the event, and if found guilty you will be dealt with according to the following.
1. NLR – the New Life rule, that is, that if your character dies, everything that happened to that character, your next character knows nothing about it.  1st offense – Banned from that event.  2nd offense – banned from all further events in that RP story line. 3rd offense – Banned from the Globe. Note this rule does not apply if you were killed at random. See rule below.
2. Random killing – Random killing is not allowed, unless the leaders make an exception.  If someone is random killing, then please give his name to one of the leaders.  1st offense – Warned at that event. 2nd offense – if it’s at the same event, then banned.    3rd offense – Banned from that RP story line. 4th offense – Banned from the globe.
3. Meta gaming – this is when you, by some means, find something out about the game, and then use that knowledge in game.  1st offense – warned in game. 2nd offense – banned from that event. 3rd offense – banned from that RP story line.
These are the three main rules.  A leader of an event can add rules if he likes, but no leader, EVERY, can void or change these three rules.  (Unless stated in the rule.)
There will be other rules that, for the most part, will be common place, but I’m not done with them yet.

Calradia Invaded - Headed by Marin Peace Bringer
Status - In the beginning stages.
Alright so I am changing the invasion RP a bit.  Instead of it being about the survivors of a village, it will be a little more of an epic, and have to do with the nobles and soldiers.
OK so some faction (I will talk with some modders to see if I can’t get a few items for them) will be some far away people who live from invading lands, then living there for a few years, then move on.  (like a roaming tribe, but on a MUCH larger scale)
Alright, so the here is a simple outline of what will happen at each event.
“And so they came” – this will take place at a castle on the western board of the Rhodoks lands, just by the swadians.  The idea is that the lord and his knights were gone to Jalek to meet with the king, and his wife (preferably not played by socks  ) is in charge of the castle till he gets back.  This castle is the first target of the invaders, and the lady and the servants and garrison must hold the castle till the lord gets back, which is about in a few days.  This event will end one of two ways.  If the defenders hold long enough, then the lord comes to the rescue, but if they don’t, then he arrives to find the castle fallen and every one slaughtered!
“What shall we do my lord?” – It is a few days after the first event, and the Swadians have heard of the siege, and the Lord Marshal has been ordered by the king to rally an army and march to the Rhodok border.  The event will be about when they arrive.  They find the Rhodok army in a dire straight.  Will the Swadians and Rhodoks be able to sort out their differences in time?  Again, there will be more than one ending to this.  The swadians and Rhodoks can work together, or the swadians attack the Rhodoks, or the Rhodoks attack the swadians, or the Swadians just wait for the Rhodoks to be defeated.(btw, is it possible to have a three way battle? Or a way to mod around it?)
That’s really as far as I can plan it, because depending on what happens, the invaders may attack the Rhodoks, or swadians.
I will post more about the first event soon, and more about the good stuff, like how it will work and what characters’ we will need.  Note you will get to create your own character, it’s just we will have certain “Jobs” to fill.
So feedback please!

OK down to what the invading faction will be like.
I have decided to base it off of the byzantine empire.
Here is what we have so far (Full credit for this goes to Dante)

The Cataphract's weapons included:

    * Composite bow: Same as that carried by the Toxotai.
    * Kontarion: or lance, slightly shorter and less thick than that used by the skutatoi which could also be thrown like a javelin.
    * Spathion: Also identical to the infantry weapon.
    * Dagger
    * Battle axe: Usually strapped to the saddle as a backup weapon and tool.
    * Bambakion: Same as that of the infantry but with a leather corselet usually depicted as colour red.

The standard light infantry of the empire, in each chiliarchia they made up the last three lines. These soldiers, highly trained in the art of bow were formidable archers. Most of the Imperial archers came from Asia Minor, especially the region around Trebizond on the Black sea, where they were raised, trained and equipped.

Their arms included:

    * Composite bow
    * Kavadion
    * spathion or tzikourion (small axe) for self-defence.

Although military manuals prescribed the use of light armour for archers, cost and mobility considerations would have prohibited wide-scale implementation of this.

Infantry types and equipment

The bulk of the Byzantine infantry were the skoutatoi, named from the word skouton, for their large oval or kite-shaped shield. Their armor and weapons included:

    * kremasmata: A skirt hanging below a soldier's cuirass to protect his legs.
    * κlivanion (κλιβάνιον): the characteristic Byzantine lamellar cuirass, usually sleeveless. In addition, pteruges (leather hanging strips) were worn to protect shoulders and hips.
    * zaba (ζάβα) or lōrikion (λωρίκιον): mail hauberks, usually reserved for the armoured cavalry cataphracts.
    * kavadion (καβάδιον) or vamvakion (βαμβάκιον): A padded leather or cotton under-garment, worn under the cuirass.
    * epilōrikion (επιλωρίκιον): A padded leather or cotton over-garment, worn over the cuirass.
    * spathion (σπαθίον): The typical Roman spatha, a longsword (about 90 cm), double-edged and very heavy.
    * paramērion (παραμήριον): a one-edged scimitar-like sword, girded at the waist.
    * kontarion (κοντάριον): a long spear (about 2 to 3 m), the kontarion was used by the first ranks of each chiliarchia (battalion) in order to fend off enemy cavalry.
    * Helmet: the helmet varied by region and time but was generally a simple, conical-shaped piece of steel, often with extra neck protection in the form of a mail or leather aventail.
    * skouton (σκούτον): a large and oval (later kite-shaped) shield made of wood, covered by leather and reinforced with steel. Each unit had different shield decoration.

Unarmoured light infantrymen, often armed with javelins, were known as in classical times as peltastoi.

Varangians
http://pneymatiko.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/varangian_guard.jpg

The Varangian Guard was a foreign mercenary force and the elite of the Byzantine infantry. It was composed principally of Vikings, Nordic, Slavic and Germanic peoples, after 1066 it was increasingly English in composition. The Varangians served as the bodyguard (escort) of the emperor since the time of Basil II, and were generally considered to be well-disciplined and loyal so long as funds remained to pay them. Although most of them brought their weapons with them when entering the Emperor's service, they did gradually adopt Byzantine military dress and equipment. Their most characteristic weapon was a heavy axe, hence their designation as pelekyphoros phroura, the "axe-bearing guard".

The Imperial Cataphract was an armoured cavalry horse archer and lancer who symbolized the power of Constantinople in much the same way as the Legionary represented the might of Rome.

The Cataphract wore a conical-shaped casqued helmet, topped with a tuft of horsehair dyed in his unit's colour. The helmet was often complemented by chain mail, either as just an aventail to protect the neck and elbows or as a mask concealing the wearer's face. He wore a long shirt of doubled layered chain or scale mail, which extended down to his upper legs. And over the chain mail he would also use a lamellar cuirass that could have sleeves or not. Leather boots or greaves protected his lower legs, while gauntlets protected his hands. He carried a small, round shield, the thyreos, bearing his unit's colours and insignia strapped to his left arm, leaving both hands free to use his weapons and control his horse. Over his mail shirt he wore a surcoat of light weight cotton and a heavy cloak both of which were also dyed in unit colours. The horses often wore mail armour and surcoats as well to protect their vulnerable heads, necks and chests.

    * Dagger
    * Battle axe: Usually strapped to the saddle as a backup weapon and tool.
    * Bambakion: Same as that of the infantry but with a leather corselet usually depicted as colour red.

The lance was topped by a small flag or pennant of the same colour as helmet tuft, surcoat, shield and cloak. When not in use the lance was placed in a saddle boot, much like the carbine rifles of modern cavalrymen. The bow was slung from the saddle, from which also was hung its quiver of arrows. Byzantine saddles, which included stirrups (adopted from the Avars), were a vast improvement over earlier Roman and Greek cavalry, who had very basic saddles without stirrups or even no saddles at all. The Byzantine state also made horse breeding a priority for the Empire's security. If they could not breed enough high quality mounts, they would purchase them even from the other cultures.
[edit] Light Cavalry

The Byzantines fielded various types of light cavalry to complement their Kataphraktos, in much the same way as the Romans employed auxiliary light infantry to augment their armoured infantry legionaries. Due to the empire's long experience, they were wary of relying too much upon foreign auxiliaries or mercenaries (with the notable exception of the Varangian Guard). Imperial armies usually comprised mainly citizens and loyal subjects. The decline of the Byzantine military during the 11th century is parallel to the decline of the peasant-soldier, which led to the increased use of unreliable mercenaries.

Light cavalry were primarily used for scouting, skirmishing and screening against enemy scouts and skirmishers. They were also useful for chasing enemy light cavalry, who were too fast for the Catphracts. Light cavalry were more specialized than the Cataphracts, being either archers and horse slingers (psiloi hippeutes) or lancers and mounted Javelineers. The types of light cavalry used, their weapons, armour and equipment and their origins, varied depending upon the time and circumstances. In the 10th century military treatise On Skirmishing explicit mention is made of Expilatores, a Latin word which meant "robber" or "plunderer" but which is used to define a type of mounted scout or light raider. Also mentioned in descriptions of army- or thematic-level light cavalry are trapezites, "those whom the Armenians call tasinarioi", who "should be sent out constantly to charge down on the lands of the enemy, cause harm and ravage them." [1] Indeed, the word tasinarioi may be the linguistic a

Also they will have Greek fire

I will be working on this, and i will also "clean" it up a bit and just have what the troops will have, but in the mean time, this will do fine.\

The Globe will not be hosting anything but the events listed above, but there will also be "Passive" RP, which is anything done on an RP server that is not an actull event.

Well, if you are intrested in joining as a actor, join one event, help with modding, help with mapping, help wit hosting, please PM me.

Guys, I've been testing for the past few hours with several others, and I've realized we need a new dialog system. The current one just doesn't work.

To make the current one work, modders could make it so that the look-at-person-shows-their-name works for everyone [currently it's in singleplayer and for teammates in MP, so the code's already there]. This way people would be able to judge whether someone is within earshot.
To reiterate what I said in the other thread.

1. Paste a copy of the 'Native' folder from your 'Modules' folder into your 'Modules' folder.

2. Rename the copied folder 'RPmod.'

3. Download the mod from here.

4. Extract the mod into your 'RPmod' folder.

5. Start Warband, select 'RPmod' for the active mod, and play.

That's it.

Well that failed.

Why did it fail? Because some complete douche**** decided to be a fully armored swadian knight at the rebellion.

Well, said complete douche**** is nK's very own Control Alt Delete. Suffice to say I'm quite pissed at him now.

Did not see that one coming. Ctrl's always seemed like a relatively undouchey guy. I'm disappointed in you, Ctrl. Not that you care. After all, I am just the resident robot.

I was all focused on this revenge story (some players referred to it as a soap opera  ), so I'm not exactly sure what went down. But I do know that the thing got really rushed near the end.

Wow socks, blow off some steam man.  I played the whole thing without any problems without dying until the end (at the end of the rebellion), so I don't know why you are so pissed.  Perhaps you care to explain before slandering me?

And what did Ctrl do?
I don't rightfully know honestly.  The whole thing didn't go over so well anyways since we had no Lord of the castle and few peasants.  Beaver was there, but no HULKMASH.

Well for a first try it wasn't so bad, and we had some decent story and characters with some personality (including my peasant-despising guard  ).  I'm still not sure what exactly happened with the girl and her daddy.  As far as I know, there was a guy who wanted my crossbow to "deliver to the lord" so I gave it to him.  He ran into the squire on the way and the squire said that the lord has issued no such request, so I chopped him down as a traitor.  Then I think the woman was supposed to be his girl and she was asking the innkepper about her father and such and I got lost there.  Then the rebellion happened and she pretended to be a loyalist, only to stab me in the back  So she killed her father's killer.  Or something like that, I may be totally wrong.  Then something about the innkeeper dying (or in the end he didn't die or something? I don't really know tbh).
