very nice but will shields use a central grip that you hold with one hand or will they all be strapped to your arm

It's rather misleading, since there is no passive blocking.

As above. Although it looks more realistic, it does make it even more ridiculous that the shield counts for nothing unless you're actively blocking with it; there's only a small difference between the totally defenseless position and impenetrable wall position.

Pretty much all the shield meshes have been redone now.

Whats previewed in first post should give an idea of the improvement thereupon.

I can't see how it would be possible. The animation set is determined by the weapon rather than the shield. I don't think there's a workaround, but maybe someone will surprise me.
