Post your ideas for replacement names of vanilla buildings or completely new structures. Here is the current set from original game:

Village Buildings

  • Building a Manor allows you to rest at the village like you can at a town, and if you are resting there during pay day your men will only get half wages because they are not on active duty. Your party will draw food from the village during this time. A manor has a base cost of 8000 denars and 83 days.

  • Building a Mill increases village prosperity by 5%. It has a base cost of 6000 denars and 63 days.

  • Build a Watch Tower if you have problems with parties raiding your village. It makes the village take 25% longer to be looted, giving you more time to come to the rescue. If you succeed in stopping the looters the damage normally caused to the village's prosperity will not occur. If your village is far away from enemy lands it will probably never be looted because there are always closer targets, in which case building this improvement is a waste of money. The Watch Tower has a base cost of 5000 denars and 53 days.

  • Building a School will improve your reputation with the village by +1 per month. Improving your reputation with a village raises the number of Recruits who volunteer to join you. A School has a base cost of 9000 denars and 93 days.

  • Building a Messenger Post will let you be informed about enemy activity near your village even if you are far away. The Messenger Post has a base cost of 4000 denars and 43 days.

Castle and Town Buildings

  • Building a Messenger Post will let you be informed about enemy activity near your castle even if you are far away. The Messenger Post has a base cost of 4000 denars and 43 days.

  • A Prisoner Tower significantly reduces the chance of imprisoned lords escaping. The escape chance is normally 30%, but a Prisoner Tower reduces it to 5%. The Prisoner Tower has a base cost of 7000 denars and 73 days.

And some my ideas, the descriptions mostly come from Arthurian/Rome Total War. Maybe we can also add some religious buildings like Celtic/Chrisitan chapels, Germanic temples etc. More stuff will follow. This is just basics.

My Village Buildings Ideas

  • Turf Wall and Wooden Palisade make the village take 25% longer to be looted, giving you more time to come to the rescue. A wall of logs around a settlement gives a comforting sense of security, but it cannot delay attackers for very long. It's enough to keep livestock from straying at night. That said, a palisade like this is cheap and easy to erect - even for an unskilled workforce. It will help create a feeling of community, somewhere people can live, work and prosper.
  • Wooden Wall makes the village take 45% longer to be looted, giving you more time to come to the rescue. A rough wooden wall is a better defence than a palisade of stakes, but it is still not much of a problem to organised attackers. It will delay attackers getting into the settlement, and so is a good barrier against surprise raids. More organised attackers will, however, break the wall down sooner rather than later. The wall also keeps locals and their livestock safe at night and gives a sense of permanence to a town. These walls are easy to construct with an unskilled workforce.  Improving the walls also adds grain stores to extend the time a settlement can resist a siege.
  • Watch Tower makes the village take 5% longer to be looted, giving you more time to come to the rescue. Very cheap cost of construction.
  • The Village Trader sells some local produce to other settlements increasing - in a small way - the wealth of the community. Trade carries risks, but it is an excellent way of increasing wealth, because settlements and peoples flourish when they are mutually supporting and not attempting to be entirely self sufficient. It increases village prosperity by 5%.
  • Tecacadallachur (Sleeping Hall/Inn). Inns and Taverns also provided cheap accomodation to travellers from out of settlement, which in turn brought news from neighbouring regions. This building will improve your reputation with the village by +2 per month. Improving your reputation with a village raises the number of recruits who volunteer to join you.

I wouldn't go too over the top with buildings. The suggestions so far are all good.

I would call the "inn" a "drinking house" or something of the sort, possibly "hostel". Manor should be renamed "mead hall".

Possibly something like a "fort" that would allow you to garrison troops in a village that you own.
