OpenBRF began working fine, but it would tend to fault/have an "appcrash" on exit. A few weeks ago, without any changes to my system, OpenBRF ceased displaying .dds textures, but would only display the checkerboard pattern. The "Why checkerboard" option would say that it couldn't understand the .dds formatted document. Now, it refuses to start all together. Instead, it immediately brings up the app crash window with the following text:

I have deleted all registry references to the .brf format or to OpenBRF, rebooted, etc, to no avail.

It started working again after I had deleted OpenBRF, all references in the registry that dealt with .brfs, and shutdown/restart. Then I installed it to a different drive.
OpenBRF now opens, but I still cannot see textures (always get the blank checkerboard) and it always crashes on quit.
