I hope all of these fancy graphics features can be turned off. Or at least we still have the option to run everything on very low texture quality. My laptop has an integrated video card....

ouch.

sorry but you can't expect devs to cater for integrated gfx cards. My laptop has one and it is McFail.

I know that. I just hope they don't get rid of DX7 mode. That would basically mean I can't play anymore.

one thing i did notice at this vid: http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/14331957/mount-blade-warband/videos/mountandblade_trl_warband_033009.html

there are horses on siege defend it seems that you have to dismount at the start if you are a cavalry unit in a siege defend?
Maybe you don't have to dismount, and then you can ride a horse onto the battlements!

It would've been nice to have seen some interviews for e3.

Did the team actually go?

For me it's best to see armagan or the team talking about the game because it's so obvious that they have a passion for it.

It's clear, to me, that they all play and enjoy playing games in general. Particularly their own one.

I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of people choosing archer characters and jumping on top of roofs and stuff, where melee chars can't get to them :(

Nightmares from now on

(Anyone figured out the importance of different sized horses, or does it just look good?)

My assumptions are maybe for variety to make it look better just a visual OR bigger horses are stronger and do more damage/take more damage.

This is bad ass beyond belief.
What is this warlord you all speak of?  Every time I hear it mentioned, it sounds like some awesome mod, but I cant find any info on it.  Google has also failed me.

Not if the melee fighters are Nord themed - They'd have a handy throwing axe in their sack.
Wow obviously Native with no mods is the best , because without it there wouldn't be any mods anyways.

clayton

Is Native a mod? No? Well then your comment is ******** irrelevant.

If the archer has got there, why won't the melee character be able to get there?

Archers posted on roofs is not really a problem.

I fear something else : In that first video early on in the thread, with the two swadian men-at-arms attacking a village with some foot soldiers defending, you have a character that goes up a ladder, reaches the top, then jumps off and all the time, he is moving backwards facing his opponent with his shield held up and weapon in hand.

So my fear is that hand to combat on foot will degenerate in the kind of silly to-and-fro, dancing-around-the-target and frantic bunny-hopping action that you see so often in all the online FPS games out there. I hope the devs have thought about that.

The impact of jumping, climbing, running and falling of heights on the multiplayer part of Warband should be considered very carefully.

I fall from roof must atleast cost 40 hitpoints and the speed of backwards movement must be decreased alot.

You people whine too goddamn much.

But whining has a high chance of improving the end result!

That's why we all love Armagan and co.

Oh, and here's the new E3 gameplay video from earlier reposted on youtube today.
Multiplayer Trailer on youtube
It's really quite interesting to see how quickly news spreads about Warband updates; it's already on countless gaming news sites/blogs.
if you see in the info box on that vid it says that it can handle up to 64 players :O I hope that's true

"Multiplayer battles can now handle up to 64 players with Mods including Team Death Match and Search & Destroy."

so....thats cool, because i was thinking it could only hold 32 players in all w/16 on each team  :?

Thank you for all those kind posts.

captain lust:
I am afraid we didn't go to E3 this year. But Paradox will be presenting it to journalists along with their other games.

Oyipggy:
It'll definitely be possible to switch off everything and use lowest-detail textures. DirectX-7 mode will be supported as well, but I am hoping that DirectX 9 with everything turned off will perform better than DX 7. We are actually adding lots of optimizations and new ways of switching off graphics features.

Lias:
Thank you so much for the feedback on archery animation. It'll be very useful.
