Dukes and Mercenaries 2.0

I am back with tons of new items inspired by the European ealry Renaissance and a new mod to compile them all. I am still waiting for the Death of Renaissance Mod so I made this one to myself to give me a sense of what battles would be like in  a Renaissance fashion.

You can now command Arquebusiers and hallebardiers against 'Forlorn Hopes' (a name taken from Medieval total war II) wielding powerfull zweihanders and flamberges.

There are no new armors or new features but the way you fight is changed a lot. Cavalry now has a really hard time against polearm users, firearms are deadly at close range but quite unusefull at long range, shield are limited to swordsmen and knights.

Known bugs :
Some High poly items
Some swords only have the first frame for the scabbard animation - I often get a problem making the second with the sword inside- so the scabbard disapear when the sword is draw
Khergit weren't able to adapt to the gunpowder technology for now (their horses fear the sound of  guns shots), so they continue to throw their sharpened wood sticks at you
Some unbalanced items and troops

Nords ruled by King Ragnar, Khergits ruled by Sanjar Khan, Rhodoks ruled by King Graveth, Swadians ruled by King Harlaus, Vaegirs ruled by King Yaroglek. All those peoples live, fight, and die in the continent of Calradia. The Nords and Rhodoks field solely infantry and archers, the Swadians and Vaegirs have infantry, archers and cavalry and the Khergit field almost exclusively cavalry. No such things as "infarty" or "calvary" exist. A nice link to my mod ;)

Yes, no new armors, but like luigi say in new/another version we will see mor features (after release Gallus mod).
In this version, specially I like new troops with guns, they looks amazing!

There's much similarity between the factions, yeah. But I really like the addition of firearms.
I'm a little nervous about the Khergits though: they seem underpowered compared to the other factions (but I haven't played long enough to know).

And boy, is it tough. I see why you're armed to the teeth when starting the game  :)

Why am I starting with group of 17 men? I like hiring villagers. Why do I have so good gear at the beginning? I prefer improving my gear gradually from the lowest level. There are two types of wheel pistols. Every pistol is different. So, why the accuracy of pistol with longer barrel isn't higher and why prices of both pistols are exactly the same? Nice work but I don't understand several things just from the beginning.

No it's far from completed. I called it 2.0 because I didn't know what other name to give it. I was lost a bit in all my previous versions' names so...2.0 is for a new start  :wink:
I wasn't able to release it in the Cartographer Guild....Am I dumb or is there no link to post a new topic to it ?

 :arrow: Keep your avatar on horse for the first levels : it's perfect to dispatch the easy to kill shooters and looters.
 :arrow: Stay away from polearm users !!!!!! Let them come to your arquebusiers.
 :arrow: Kill the ennemies leaders yourself because they're worth lot of xp points
 :arrow: Put some point in training skills
 :arrow: Don't join the Khergit, use them to gain renown and fortune while they're still underpowered

It is the first version, pretty rough and as I am alone doing it (like so many modders) I as I am not the so bright programmer I wish to be (in fact I no nothing about programming...) it is what it is : a simple mod with lots of weapons to kick asses.

Well, banded armor is clearly my favorite vanilla item and the one that fits the more the look of my weapons. The brigandine is also good looking. In future versions I will probably try re-texturing some of them

Why am I starting with group of 17 men? I like hiring villagers. Why do I have so good gear at the beginning? I prefer improving my gear gradually from the lowest level. About pistols, nice thought  :? I should look into it. They're some other models I wish to make (look at my new texture sheets with the brf editor) but for now, like lots of my weapons the look doesn't exactly fit the lenght/damage/speed modifiers. As you may know it requires lots of balance work and testing. But you are all there for it, to test this mod,  and I appreciate a lot when you point the problems to me.

V4.0 ??? Well my version is called  2.0, and it works.
