Yeah sorry, that made sense when I posted it but I can see how it's not clear...
Basically, I've been playing both The Wedding Dance and The Last Days recently. Both brilliant mods, but somehow The Wedding Dance slipped my notice until the last couple of weeks, whereas I've known about and played The Last Days since the early days of the mod. Anyway, I have Windows 7 64 bit and initially got plenty of errors playing The Last Days when the new version was first released at the start of November. Someone (Barf I think) suggested applying a patch to make the M&B executable large address aware (ie can use more than 2Gb memory). This fixed *all* crashes for me with The Last Days - could play for hours at battlesize 500, unlimited corpses and ragdolls, full graphical settings, with no problem. While the TLD team were trying to work out what the problems with the crashing on people's machines were, I think they had investigated many other issues as well. One thing they did do was convert all their sound and music to .wav files instead of .ogg (seem to remember someone saying .ogg could cause a problem). I was wondering if this would be a good idea for The Wedding Dance too - converting the files would be simple enough and then it's a case of amending the sounds.txt and music.txt files. I'm guessing the issues with The Wedding Dance *are* either sound-related or textures\models as script problems generally throw errors in game (in my experience) whereas I get CTDs. Reading through the posts in this topic as well as the stuff at the other board (exilian ?) it seems that noone quite got to the bottom of all the problems. I'm really enjoying playing The Wedding Dance but the CTDs are coming thick and fast now and nothing I try seems to make a lot of difference (apart from using Windows XP which helps somewhat but is a step back for me). As The Last Days works so well, I'm assuming that The Wedding Dance is fixable as the problem is presumably not an M&B engine problem (which wouldn't be fixable)...
Anyway, that became a bit of a ramble, which I was trying to avoid yesterday. If I get some time and the inclination I'll have a play around with the sounds\music and report back if it helps...
