How to create banners with torn edges etc.

Hi all,
 
Here's how to use transparency on banners to create torn edges etc. 

I assume that you have Photoshop and NVidia DDS plugin installed.

1. Paste your banners on top of an empty and transparent background like this and using the eraser tool, clear the area that is going to be transparent.




2. Save the DDS file using NVidia's plugin, with these settings.

It is indeed. After reading this I thought I'd try it, came up with this.

As you can see in the last pic however, I accidently picked a Banner that has a triangle cut-out at the bottom.

ermm i got the files into dds and the mip map genration stuff but how do i get them into the game? is there coding that i need to do? because i placed them in texture's but when iget awarded the flag there not there.. any soloutions?

As you can see in the last pic however, I accidently picked a Banner that has a triangle cut-out at the bottom.

The Mount And Blade Banner and Flag Standardization Pack fixes that.  You may need to do some conversion work to get your existing banners into the new format, so if you have a lot of them it may/may not be worth your setup time.
