The Mongol mod has been started thanks To Ben34698, Wei.Xiadi,and Kongol Khan.
i don't know when but very soon the mod will be uploaded

Setting:
Just a few years before Yesughei Khan (Ghengis Khan's father) dies, during a period when Mongols were a large network of tribes who constantly battled one another for supremecy.  To the southeast are the Tanguts of Western Xia who despise all Mongols, hope that they destroy eachother before they become a threat.  You could unite the tribes, or help them destroy eachother.

Borjigin
Jadaran
Tatars
Naimans
Keraits

there are new models and textures, but all non-nomad themed items have been depleted.
There is currently a new map,
Quests, we shouldn't really have to worry that much about, but all medieval chivalric stuff should be eliminated

this is actully a really good idea i may suggest that you read some of the toturials on the forge to learn about making a mod. but good luck i like the idea of fighting as a mongol :D

I have been thinking about this for a long time!!

but i dont have much free time to do some moding...

Well, i think before you start doing a total conversion mod, you can make some minor mod...

Such as reskin or making more mongol look khergit armor...

consider it as practice and preparation..

yes SirAndre thank you i was thinking of that by making more Mongolian ore nomadic looking armor and weapon's, and than i could go further. if you have any ideas ore if you are a good moder i could use you re help,

Check the link in my sig. It has a bunch of links to modding tutorials. Check there first.
And remember, start out small. Leave the map as it is for now, and try and get the most out of the Native items. Then, go from there.

Funny, I just starting making the exact mod about a month ago.  About a minute after finishing Sergei Bodrov's 'Mongol'.  That was an fantastic movie.  All I've done is edit the troops, taken out all items that didn't fit with the setting, created a new map, and edited some text files to replace words like 'Calradia', 'King', 'Kingdoms', and 'gold' with 'Mongolia', 'Khan', 'Tribes', and 'skins', among other small edits.  I never quite understood the modelling progams.  To complicated for me.  The module system doesn't really make much sense to me either.  I'm completely worthless.

yes it's a traditional chinese sword, and no, the mogols do use a lot of chinese armours and weapons, and btw other weapons showing in those pics also are chinese Song dynasty style besides this sword :mrgreen:

I myself have been thinking about doing this, and of course, after watching Sergei Bodrov's "Mongol". I'm really in the need to research the history of 13th Century mongolia, and I'd really like the mod to be more focused around being a free-lance Mongol with opposing factions, including Temujin and Jamuka, and many other Khans from different clans.

I'm learning to model right now with Wings 3D, so if you really want to do this project, I can model items. My only worry is finding someone who can program the game to fit the story to a more Mongolian setting. I don't want it to be the exact same dialogue from Native.

I've modeled a shield and a sword. I'm going to UV wrap them sometime tomorrow and texture them. Hopefully they satisfy. I'll post them here when I finish with them. I'm going to work on a helmet after these two objects are done.
