Britannia 1080 mod General discusion thread/Progress report

Hi, That is my first work guys. I decided to make a mod of Brittania, just after the Normans conquered the Saxon Kindoms and are trying to establish their holding on the British mainland... A time of Great Skirmishes and fights!

I am writing an essay about english history right now lol :P what a coincidence.

Sure, would be pretty cool even though I'd prefer if you made the mod even earlier... You know, like the Anglo-Saxon invasion of Brittania? :) Or even earlier than that. Heh, guess that'll be another project.

One of my favourite part of english history! And earlier ages could be done as well, I mean, fighting along Hengest and Horsa, how awesone would that be (if you are with the saxons that is).

About the mod: I made some progress about the new Lord names, and worked a bit the Man Island troops (Vikings) ...

I'll try to upload a BETA, sometime today but I may not... I hope in 1-2 days to upload the BETA, so as to work on the 0.960 alpha, and when the system will come out, I'll port that to 1.003  :mrgreen:

PS: I really wanna make the new scenes before the BETA, but it may be difficult... Also one guy pm'ed me and told me that he can make cities/castles/villages more upradable (ex. villages can have a palisade built...) . What's your opinion on that? Is it worthy?

I have a very similar idea for a mod like that, but I dare not to post it on this forum coz it's a "if you want it, do it yourself"-world out there ;P and I cant mod, just make up awesome ideas *cough cough* Well, it included upgrading your village with loads of stuff, one was a smaller wooden fort where you could garrison troops to hold off enemy raiding parties.


Other than that, this mod would be awesome! :) I like the Saxons and the Vikings (they were related) I'm gonna kick some Norman ass with the help of them!
With a mod that takes place earlier, I meant to include factions like the Picts or Britons or Iceni or Celts or Gaels or something. Of course some belong to different eras, like Celts were after Iceni and Britons, and I don't even think Saxons were around in Brittania by then. The Romans were, so that would be hard for you to make them (since you cant use any native stuff for them.)

There is already such a mod Waraelm, in the Cartographer's Guild there is a mod by a guy called Kolba. It's called 'Land of Eternal Youth'. It's for .960 at the moment.

Finally that was a misundertanding but I was told about 2 mods that will have that in. Maybe I'll seek infos there, thought it's not high in my ''to do'' list
