Just open the scripts.txt file and search for 2133 2 1224979098644774938 (the first one is in the appropriate script). The first one you'll find will have a 0 following it, that's where the variable is initially set (so don't change that one). I'll list the results you'll find, with the default number so you can find the ones you want to change. These numbers are the number of days it takes before the quest will repeat.

Just go to get_random_quest and start searching for  2133 2 1224979098644774938, all the instances you find should be followed directly by the number on that list. Then just find the right instance of it to edit for whichever quest you want to repeat more often and change it. This is savegame compatible.

-edit- If you're looking for the caravan quest, the reason it isn't in the list is it doesn't have a repeat timer. If for some reason you want to add one (maybe you don't LIKE caravans, and want to limit it to once a year or something) see the bottom of this post. And by doing this, further my evil plan to take over the world! Mwahahaha.

I can't actually find get_random_quest in the scripts.txt. Searched through trying to find the number I have to edit but I don't know if it's the right one in the game_start?

Hi, warband modders im new in this and want to make all units (player, lords, heros, companions) have the same probability of being killed that normal units. y dont care of the empty map result, is the price of realism jajaja Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english
 
Is there a tweak that does so lords wont loose relation then assigning fiefs? I cant find it anywhere and im playing on a mod not supported by Tweakmb.

Sorry to dredge up something so old, but I came to ask the same question and didn't see a response; we can't be the only two people who wander in here with the problem.  I recently decided to try the Military Scythe because you can use it with a shield.  It's rated for Swing and Thrust damage, and I assumed that swinging would be impossible whilst a shield is equipped.  But there is no conceivable mouse gesture (and I've tried everything I would use with a swinging weapon) to make this thing swing, even with no shield in my loadout at all. 

This is being reported as a bug in numerous threads for Warband mods, but it's clearly a bug in the game itself that persisted from classic M&B to Warband, and has gone unnoticed (because everybody's gaga over the Shortened Military Scythe and never tried the original).  It's unlikely this can be fixed with a tweak.  The other threads (those that even acknowledge the question, and most of them don't) suggest using an item editor (I found one here: http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=567) to edit the item.  I have not tried this yet, and as always when editing game files, use caution and backup your original first.

Help! I tried to use some of these tweaks and now my game is crashing every time I start it up. I did all the tweaks properly, to my knowledge. Before editing the menus.txt and scripts.txt files, I made a backup, and then when my game was crashing I replaced the tweaked files with the backups; still didn't work. I'm on a Mac, by the way. I don't need any of the tweaks back, I just want my game fixed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: Fixed. I forgot the make the backup files plain text. xD Thanks anyways.
 
Hey I'm new here, so I don't know if anyone even still looks at this. However, if anyone can answer my question I would be so happy. I'm wondering about the calculate_her_net_income_and_add_to_wealth script in Warband and how one might change that to benefit their player. Or really any other way to alter city/castle prosperity.

How viable are these tweaks after all these years (and updates to the game)?

I managed to find the lines I wanted to edit and that "should" be correct - but some had slightly different numbers and they seem to have to impact on my game.
(Are they all only working in new saves?)

I am using the Diplomacy mod and wanted to have:
- cattle follow my party
- dialog option for companions to not leave the party due to disliking
- taverns to buy prisoners
- the fix for village elders not giving new quests bug (without knowing if my version of the game needs it ...)


And I just noticed that this all is for MB only not MB:W?
 
Hello I'm new to this of modding m&b: Warband and I really want to do the recruiting amount on villages tweak but I don't know were to find the file that needs to be moddified... Please help and replie soon  :smile:  :grin:

If possible, I would like to know what part of the script I should edit to modify the minimum number of men ai lords must have to run to a settlement for recruiting.

You're really best off getting just TweakMB and doing it all safely through that (it's fail-safe, since it creates backups of anything you change). Same applies for the vast majority of tweaks, actually. Very simple (even a muggins like me can use it). Here's a link:

I tried using TweakMB but because the script is different it can't seem to find it to change it.
 
Is there a way to directly set the debt?
I've hit a bug and direct debt editing seems to be the only solution.

Hello, I find that now trade is completely worthless. The profit per good is often less than 50 denars and there is very few goods so it is way too long to earn money. Looting villages or selling prisonners is much more profitabe. From what I have read those changes came with patch 1.142. I've managed to fin a download for the game in 1.132 version but now I would like to know what do I have to modify in the scripts file in oder to bring back older good values and city production.
