Wow - Great tweaks! Makes M&B more fun!

Just wondering, I have been playing TLD for a while, and I was wondering if you could find an after-battle XP tweak for .808? Raising Elven troops takes so long... I mean, I have 600 troops, I just want them to level up faster.
 
TML I used some of your tweaks they are great bu I was wandering can u tell me how to make myself a king and recrut lords?Because i looked for a mod like that for 1.003 but theirs no such mod and when i try to download version 1.010/11 my it says Mozilla Firefox (not responding).

Yea, download the Unofficiail Troop Editor, from the unofficial editing tools thread. Once you get that it makes it extremely easy to change the names. The other way would be to edit the actual troops.txt file in you M&B module folder. Just be sure to back it up before you change it.
I tried but that damn thing can't find the troop files.

there is NO way you can become a  king. The highest rank is Marshall.


You can recruit lords of the you faction you rebel against. (That's what I heard.)
 
Can anyone help me with this please? The red message keeps showing since I updated to 1.011.

Is there anything wrong with the factions? Because the Swadia has been defeated already. And that red message keeps showing since I updated my game to 1.011. I've looked into the original script.txt from 1.011 (which I'm not using) and compare with the one I use and I'm sure I've made no change to game_event_simulate_battle.

There was no problem with it (I could keep playing) until the last time that message showed. The screen turned to black and a common Windows error message asked about send or don't send or something.  :sad:
 
I have had a problem. I can't tweak any part of the game.

Currently morale has been an issue in my party, so I tried to make it so leadership gives 35 morale instead of 7, and this comes up.


"Cannot create the C:\Program Files
(x86)\Mount&Blade\Modules\Native\scripts.txt file.

Make sure that the path and file name are correct."



I've tried other tweaks, and the error comes up as well, how do I fix this? Also I have two program files "Program Files" and "Program Files(x86)". Does that have anything to do with it?


Also I know internet forums for some reason have a lot of stuck up people who are very critical on grammar or hate people who don't know as much about computers as they do, so if I made a mistake, bug off.

btw I used "Change the character info screen to show your relation with lords as a #" and its very usefull, can something similar be added to the screen where you Vote for next Marshall? I would like to see my Relation to two candidates and if possible to every voter so I can more less see how Lords that like me Vote :smile: Its better to have a boss that likes you :razz:
 
I guess I could tell y'alls how to make a "sail from port" option with .txt files.

EDIT: Okay, look in the "menus" .txt file, then Ctrl+F and search "sail". You should see this line:

Now, when you visit either Tihr or Wercheg, there should be the option to "buy a ship" for 1500 denars. BUT, we first have to set up a string incase you don't have 1500 denars.

Go to "strings" .txt and add the line:
str_toopoor You_do_not_have_enough_money_to_buy_a_ship_right_now.
at the VERY BOTTOM of the file.

Run the game, and you should be able to "buy a ship" for 1500 denars. it goes insanely fast, which is great if you need to get from Wercheg to Tihr quickly.

Ugh, I got that too, and I hated it. You need to download Notepad++ or some other text editor to fix that.

It's good that I'm not alone, but I figured out that if I delete the script. Ressurect it to desktop instead of files in mount&blade, and then edit it, it will be saved. Then I just copy it into mount&blade files.

Seekster, I looked into the way the kingdom name is set and wow, I found a really easy way to make ANY custom name for your kingdom. Heres how:

Open up quick_strings.txt and find
qstr_{s1}_Rebels {s1}_Rebels
Change this to
qstr_{s1}_Rebels {playername}

After this very simple change is done, go and start your kingdom (either by talking to a claimant and accepting rebellion, or taking your own land). As soon as you do this, your kingdom is created - and since we changed the string, the name is set to YOUR name. All you have to do is name yourself whatever you want the kingdom to be named and that will be your kingdom name.
Like if I named myself "Kingdom of Better Nords" and then rebelled against the nords, my player kingdom would be named Kingdom of Better Nords. Then you just change your name back and you have your very own custom named kingdom!

The name is set as the player name at the time that the script fires (when you join a claimant or take land without a kingdom). After that you can change your name to whatever you want - it won't keep changing with the player's name.

The idea of setting it to {playername} is so that it will call up your character's name when it gets set, and you can have different kingdom names between saves without further editing. If all you want is one kingdom name for all your games you can simply change it to that name, using _ as spaces. Like
qstr_{s1}_Rebels Kingdom_of_Whee
This works the same as if you changed it to playername and then set your character's name to Kingdom of Whee before the rebellion, but it will always be set as that so if you forget to change your player's name it will still have it. Either way works :smile:

I'd like to have my own name from my Kingdom, but i already have kingdom (lot of castles and towns). Is there any way, how to rename it, when it was already created? thx
 
Please, please could anyone help with the script to make Tavern Keepers buy prisoners from you ?

I've seriously tried this a load of times, and all my other tweaks are working fine....selling prisoners is a pain, especially when you're a Kings' Vassal and you get loads, but you can't stray far, or find any of those guys who usually buy 'em?

Please pretty please ? Could anyone who has this script working post up the correct chunk?

One more question guys (dont forget about the first one :smile:)
Can I make a new troop kind, that spawns only in my villages (those i conquer)? For example, i conquer a castle and village with it from Rhodoks. But when i capture it, the village will not spawn Rhodok Tribesman, but Kalradian recruit. Is it possible?

Yes it does, you made an error.

hmmm, I use UltraEdit, I paste both texts into Replace menu, save the file and run the game, all other tweaks I did worked (tournament bet, cattle follow and so on) and only this one makes the game not load
Could someone please post whole properly changed mno_village_manage line? Maybe UltraEdit somehow brakes it (it doesnt look that way, I even did a diff on after and before and it looked fine).

This will appear in the camp menu under "take an action" if you have your own faction, and will set your character name at the time as your faction name.

As to your second question, it should be possible but I suggest you learn how to use the module system rather than trying to do it with the text files.
