The Desaster


Version 0.1 for M&B 0.960

News

25.08.08
- Sound-fix (the sounds are now mono instead of stereo)
The Markstein Equipment is nearly complete now.
New weapons:
- A sword for the cavalry.
- Silenced MP 40
- (a weapon I´m still testing and which will NOT be realistic in any way. Just for fun :D -> watch the sounds folder of the sound-fix instead of just copy over the old files ;))
New Armors:
Sharpshooter and Scout Helmet.

I´ve got some new items for Markstein and Geralde.
For Geralde there´s a Lance (not yet textured) and for Markstein  a heavy helmet, a medium helmet, a heavy armor, two shields and the sword for the tank.

Scenario:
It is the year 1950 in Calradia. After the Great War (Calradia 1914: Götterdämmerung) many things had changed.
The people were tired of fighting and swore that something like the war in the years from 1914 to 1918 should never happen again. It worked. Most of the old leaders were dead. There was no one who´d be stupid enough to get fool by them again.
But then one day, beginning peaceful like every other day, the peace broke and war spread over Calradia again...

Sounds stupid?! I know^^ but I just don´t want to tell you why the war started. In the next versions you might understand what happened ;)

This version is released to show you what I´ve done so far. It is not balanced and nothing is final (only the troop trees, but who knows what I think tomorrow ^^)


Factions: (I´ll post better explanations soon)

Virgil Empire  (Veagir) (British-like faction)
After the Great War the Albion Empire change their name to Virgil Empire.

Vottok Reign  (Khergit) (Russian-like faction)
The Socialist Republic and the Khergit formed the new, the mightier Vottok Reign.

Markstein Kingdom  (Swadia) (German-like faction)
The swadians wanted to forget their past and changed their name to Markstein Kingdom.

Geralde Empire  (Rhodok) (French-like faction)
After Georges Clemencau death in a great battle against the Swadian Empire.
Jean Geralde became the ruler of Galia.

Brom Separatists  (Nord) (Scandinavian themed faction)  (Will be changed)
First they were only refugees from Galia and Albion. But before they were slaughtered, or get victim of the genocides all over Calradia the war ended and they founded citys and villiages at the coast. Later they were just known as Brom Seperatists.

Features (Version 0.1):


- High poly weapons ^^ (I think the textures are good too :P)

- New troop trees for every faction

- Most troops changed to ranged.

  - armed with pistols and rifles

    - 3 weapons for every faction.   (models by me/textures by me)

  - new armors   (retextured native armors)

  - new helmets   (models by me/textures by me)

- No more bows, crossbows, throwing knifes or throwing axes

- Cartridges will not be refilled after battle
 
  - I like realism and I had no problems - I always had enough ammo.

- New shot sounds.
 
  - Different shot sounds for Pistols, Carabines and Machine Pistols


The armors are not "realistic", I mean they are not like they were in the second World War.
I like the armor but I might make better textures.

Features RichyZ`s Version 0.1:

- rebalanced armors and weapons

- troops and party changed

- more realistic

- mod image/picture


Weapon list:

Note: Automatic weapons are only single shot weapons with bigger magazines, lower accuracy but as fast as you could click ^^.

Cold 1911, Enfield No.4, Thompson 1928



Vottok:

Nagant 1895, Mosin Nagant, PPSH 42



Markstein:

P38, K98k, MP 40, Silenced MP 40




Geralde:

Saint-Etienne Mle.1935, MAS 36, MAS 38



Brom:

Lahti, K31, Suomi M-31




Bugs:

The hair of some Lords is white/textureless. Same goes for random generated player faces but not always and the standart face has right hair textures too.

If you play with high details the game might crash.

White edges are visible around the weapons. Only if youre closer you will not see them.

It´s not realy a bug. The Lord and their troopy might form a line in battle and stay there forever, waiting for you to attack.
I`ll put more infantry in-game, I hope they attack then.


Fixes/Additions in the next version (hopefully^^):

Louder weapon sounds,
Better balance,
A new armor set for every faction. Stronger armor for infantry,
Shields,
Melee weapons,
Sniperrifles and assaultrifles for high tier ranged infantry.
...
(and the next part of the story ;))


Please do NOT SUGGEST NATIONS I could/should add :/.
I´ve seen this in so many other threads, I don´t need it here.

I don´t care what you are doing. I continue working on this mod  but I don´t know if I´ll release anything in future.

hey im the beta tester for this mod and i love it i mean its like the only mod out thier with ww2 weapons its a nice piece indeed

And those are all european faction because C1914 had only european faction (exept khergit maybe^^)
And if I would implement other ww2 faction like Japan or the US I need a new map, something with small isles or something like that. But I want to keep the old map.

And overall it the first release. Everything could change

Pretty good modelings and textures there, I'm not much into firearms mods but this one is fun ^^ *pewwpeww*

It is Disaster (in english/ with "e" its the german version) you´re right.
But I want it to be called Desaster ;)

You can type properly. Still a decent idea and you did do a fair bit.

Theres an extremley horrible shader bug.. Should get it fixed. Pistols are way too small. Rifle are way to slow.
Cant find the Markstien clothing.

Several items lack texture - both armour, gloves and helmets.
The pistols are very small, and yet make a lot of noise.
If you want to increase the volume of the gun sounds make sure to test it in a large battle. It might become distortion hell   :)

By the way: are the sounds mono or stereo? I have a hard time hearing who's firing.
I think you should make sure the sounds are mono, so it decreases in volume the further away from you they are:
