Change of Serial Number

My friend installed his game in my computer. And now, I've bought my own copy. Uninstalled his game, but I can't seem to change the serial number to mine. Is there any way to change the serial number?

Someone mentioned clearing the other serial number from the registry, then re-activate it with mine. How can I go about doing this?

Search the registry for "Mount & Blade". Delete the two keys you find. Reinstall Mount & Blade.

I run regedit and tried looking for the serial number, but failed. Could you tell how exactly can I find the 2 keys?

The folder is called MountAndBladeKeys and should be located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ or similar. Remember to export the MountAndBladeKeys folder before you remove the strings so you have a backup in case something goes wrong.

Thank you for all the replies. I've done what you guys told me, unfortunately, I'm still unable to change my serial number.

Oh, I remember now. The directory with the serial is called Licenturion GmbH; as before, it's located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ (or similar). There will be a numbered directory within that containing the activation code and hardware hash. You might still need to remove the MountAndBladeKeys folder to fully deactivate the game, I don't know.

Ok, I am having the same problem the Creator of this thread is.

I downloaded the Try-Before-you- buy from gamespot. They gave me a serial key for the trial. Played the game. Loved it.


So i bout it, got my serial key and have NO idea where or what to do. It does not tell you ANYTHING about how you change your serial key. Very inconvenient and frustrating if you ask me. Darian I am still pretty damn confused. Is there any way for you to break it down any better? im still a little confused .

ok, so i found the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software and went into licenturion GmbH. there is there waht you said there was. What do i do with the activation code and hardware hash? anything?

Also i do not see mount&bladekeys. maybe because the key i entered the first time was for the trial

The GameSpot beta is a time-limited release and does not work with retail keys. You need to uninstall the GameSpot beta and reinstall the game from the regular installer (also available from GameSpot). You should then be able to activate it with the key you bought.

No it isn't. This forum is publicly accessible and has thousands of registered users. (over 100 000 I think). Nothing you say here is between anyone.

The best way to avoid getting banned is to buy the game. Oh and don't resurrect 2 year old threads that aren't related to your *real* issue.

umm hi im not sure about this but i need help finding where the keys go for mount and blade warband(sorry but whenever i google it always jsut shows pirate crap ,this is all i found)i played the game last year but since then have rebuilt my com now something with my key has gone wrong and its stuck me back to trial mode and i cant re order a new key so do u guys know where to find the serial keys for mount and blade war band (im using vista)
