They have a Spanish musket which looks virtually identical to the French except for different furniature colours and some minor differences in the lock. (Which aren't actually modeled atm, perhaps in the future)

I don't need to be told what a charleville musket is Sovietsoldier

Those Spaniards look great Dain, and the bearskins look good on them as well. Getting headgear, and footwear, to look like a good fit seems to be hard to do in M&B, but those bearskins look just right.

The pics look great. I wasn't a fan of the forced HDR, but I must admit, your settings look great. It really adds to the grittiness and realism of the scenes.

Here's the first of the rifles. Modelling these babies takes a bit more time than the guns. My main concern is: did I get the length of the barrel right?

I think possibly the barrel could be a little longer. At least as long as the baker rifle, if not longer. We're only guessing of course, but I'm thinking it's a longish rifle.

I'm not sure I could play with HDR on, especially soft HRD which swings things out of focus constantly, but it looks nice for screenshots!

Is this ok now? If it is, then I'm going to use it as a template for all the rifles in the refs. I'll be sending you the max files anyway, so you can tweak them further. What version are you using btw?

And another thought regarding the bearskins: what shader settings are you using? Cause i was thinking a they could make use of some opacity maps for extra fuzziness - if you forgo the specular on the metal bits, of course.

No shaders at all atm... hrmm, could dos some alpha stuff I guess, not sure of the best way of going about it though..

These are civillian rifles, and as such don't take much consideration of barrel length that military rifles required. As such they'd be quite long, but possibly not as long as this... it's a tricky one, but I've never seen a civillian rifle quite as compact as the baker.
