Video Card Problem...

i went to a pc shop today and searched for a ram stick and a good videocard.
i buyed a stick of 2gb,i use it as ram now(readyboost),but i don't see difference...
btw i couldnt get a new videocard,wich ones are good ones for this spec:intel celeron 2.8Ghz,512MB Ram(+2GB from stick),nvidia geforce 4 MX
the saler asked of i had SD,DDR,DDR2 or DDR3,i have SD i think because my pc is 3-5 years old...
plz i need a video card with pixel shader 2.0,vertex shader 2.0,openGL support,256MB memory...
im thinking nvidia 6800 but i dont know what there requirements are,there is no website where you can see wich requirements you need for specific videocards...
guys this is very important for me,i have 90€ for a new video card,plz help me wich one is the best for my pc's specs...
btw,is using a 2GB usb stick as ram good because i cant see difference...

You need DDR 400 (PC 3200) ram with 3-4-4-8 timings. Your motherboard will likely take 2gigs of it. I suggest getting getting a 2x1gig kit.

As far as AGP cards go, if you want the best get the HD 3870. The x1950 PRO is the next one down. If you really want to get an nVidia card, go for the 7800GS. Wherever available, try and get the 512mb versions. Of course, these sorts of cards drain power like crazy so you may need to invest in a better PSU.

To be honest, that Celeron is going to bottleneck your system like crazy, but you'll definitely see a huge improvement from that Geforce MX.
 
i can buy only a video card,for something else i cant pay... :sad:
wich video cards are available for my current settings and will work completely,and i have only 90€...

If you mean about using a memory stick as RAM, I would be very surprised to hear that this would be optimum.  RAM is accessed very quickly, much more quickly than I would expect the system to be able to access media in a USB stick.  I don't know though, maybe the stuff they are using is fast these days.  Still and all, I would expect it to be substantially slower using any such device for RAM; you would have more RAM space, yes, but not nearly as fast access as if you had actual RAM.

wich videocards are available for my current system,i forgot to mention that i use windows vista ultimate sp 1(build 16000 or something),is nvidia FX 5200 good for my system and wich things does it have?

I would say "probably".  If the machine is using it, then it will be limited by the access speed regardless of what it is using it for.

But it depends.  Conceivably, there may be situations in which the 512mb you have is not really enough, and the machine needs to swap the stuff currently in RAM quite a lot.  In that case, it may well be true that having 2gig in USB would be faster than clearing the RAM and reading from the disk repeatedly.

I can only really suggest testing it by trying to do something that demands a lot of processing both with and without the USB-as-RAM inserted, and see if you can see a difference.
 
See, i've got a celeron 2.6GHz, 512 ram @ 200mHz, pretty much as you have.

My GPU was onboard, and i decided to acquire a geforce 6200. I was advised to get a better PSU, 350W to be more precise, and I did.

Anyway, my brother has a 5200. Don't get it, honestly. Most post-2004 games won't run but with everything on minimum settings. The 6200 is a lil better, i can run Unreal tournament 3 with everything on the lowest settings. Though it feels crappy, at least it runs.

If you can't get a new PSU for something more powerful, the 6200 might be the way to go, but be warned: new games like CoD4, Crysis, GoW and prety much everything that is to come won't run on that card.
 
im not buying or playing any games that needs best video cards,i only need a video card that has 256mb,pixel shader 2.0,vertex shader 2.0,openGL support etc.
i only ask from you guys wich kind of video cards has these options(features) and available for my pc...(not video cards that make my pc slower than it already is...)
im buying a new video card only because my current video card(Nvidia Geforce 4 MX)doesn't have openGL support,pixel shader 2.0 and vertex shader 2.0...
i have 2 days time left to buy a new one,so post all info i need guys... :sad:

Just go to a store, look around for the features that you want, and either buy it in the store or go online and look for a cheaper price. You don't even have to go  to a store, you can search online stores. We're not your personal shoppers. If it's that important to you, put some effort into learning about what you're going to buy.
 
i visited a shop and had only one sort,it was ATI but dont know wich one,had shader modle 3.0,512MB...
im only asking wich video card is availabel for my pc that has 256mb,pixel shader 2.0,vertex shader 2.0,openGL support and is under 90€...
i expect from someone to answer like "nvidia FX 5200 has all features you want and can work with your pc perfectly,is only 83€"

What kind of computer store only has 1 kind of video card? Go to a real store next time. And anyways you didn't listen to what I just said. If you already know the features that you want in a video card, it should be extremely easy for you to find what you are looking for online.
