I know what is the problem.

I use WinRAR. It embed French strings in the installer.

So, I'll try another install maker.

The installer wants to know where to install the PyME. Just specify a folder in the text field and it is OK.

Hi all! Sure people will find your tool really useful.

Well, I have exactly the same problem as Anroll: when I try to open an existing modification "Open Modification" and "Open Project" PyME does nothing but giving the following message in the inferior text box: "Importing...", and it lasts there until I click in some of the upper menu buttons.

The log file says the following:

I've seen that you've mentioned you uploaded a corrected (referring to this error) version, but I downloaded the PyME today from Mod Repository and it still has this error... any idea about how to fix it?

And if you want help in translating PyME for localized versions, I'll be here to help with the Spanish one  :wink:.

The installer have been corrected.

But your problem may come from the parenthesis in your mod path.
Try to change the location of your Module System files and retry to create or open a mod.

Be sure that the folder you select when you open a mod contains the Module System of this mod. Otherwise, you'll get errors.

This last issue will be fixed in the next version.

Beaware that there can be a confusion between scripts and simple triggers when saving a mod. I don't actually know why, but I'm analysing the code to find where is the error, and it will be fixed as soon as possible.

@Megale91 : if you want to translate PyME to Spanish, no problem, just confirm you want to and I'll send you the resources  :grin:
 
So if I don't have that specific mod module system in its folder the tool won't open that mod at all, right? I guess this is the problem, I don't have any module system of any mod XD.

I changed the installer. This is no more WinRar, but BIM, which permit the localisation of the installer.
PyME is now provided with an uninstaller.

PyME is now localized !

Two languages are selectable (English and French), and I'm waiting some news from German and Spanish translators...

Describe what action you did : open an existing mod or create a new, the M&B version, if you started 'blank' or not (if you loaded a mod after another one).

And, what Windows version do you have ?

Alrighty. When I go to boot it up, I get this block of text:

The PyME data for Mount and Blade 1.001 is not properly configured.
Check out the configuration menue or edit PyME.ini.
Then, re-check the version option in the Version menu, or restart PyME.

Yet this is the config I have:

Perhaps I'm missing something basic (and likely am), but why isn't that allowing the editor to boot? (I've also tried adding slashes after the game and modulesystem.
 
The PyME data for Mount and Blade 1.001 is not properly configured.
Typo error, I suppose.

modulesystem = C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules\ModuleName
This config entry must point to the folder where the Native Module System is. Not to another mod sources.
But it is important only if you want to create a new mod from scratch.

Remember that PyME can only edit the Module System, not the text resources of M&B. So when you open a mod, be sure to select the folder where its Module System files are.
 
Ah hah! As I suspected, I was making a mistake atypical of somebody with their head up their arse. I was seeing "module system", and reading that to be any old module. Damned silly of me.

The Spanish translation is available !

It is 95% complete, since the PyME has grown a bit.

Two versions are proposed for character encoding compatibility (Windows-1252/WinLatin-1 and UTF-:cool:.

To use this translation, select one of the two versions below, copy and paste it in a text editor (Notepad is good enough).
Save the file as 'sp.lng' (or whatever you want, but finishing with '.lng') in the 'lang' folder of the PyME.

This version fixes up some bugs and is augmented.

There should not be anymore startup bugs, and it is compatible with the mods which defines Python functions in the 'module_...' files (like Autoloot).
 
Hello. I just downloaded this to give it a try, and it seems like a really great tool!. However for some reason the Troops window does not work, it simply show no entries and all the buttons are greyed out and not clickable. Does anybody know the reason for this, or have I just done something terribly wrong?

it's like this for even a fresh download of the module system files, and yes the other module files work (such as parties and scripts etc).

Edit: While I would still appreciate an answer, I've decided not to use pyme as it gives me several errors that I never encountered while hand editing. But it is still useful for many things, and I will still use it to generate some tuples that I'll copy-paste in.

Can you be more precise, please ? (What action(s) did you ? Is there a log file in the PyME installation folder ? Did you open a mod ? Or created a new one ?)

I've found some bugs in the GUI and I'm actually fixing them. But since there is only a small feedback (with very partial infos about the bugs), it will take few days before the release of the fixed version.

I tried creating a new mod, opening an existing one I have worked on, and opening the "native" module system. I am under Vista, I don't know if that affects anything? Now that I think on it, I should try running pyme out of my user folder - it could be an issue with Vista security checks (although it is weird that only the troops doesn't load). I didn't take any actions - clean install of PyME .9.4 and then opened a clean download of the module system for 1.01.

When I am back to my computer I'll try reinstalling PyME to a different directory, and check if there is a log file.

Edit: No logfile, unless OCK-0125D-DBA.456 is it.
