They are responsible for ensuring that art assets can be integrated into a game without sacrificing the artistic vision or exceeding the technical limitations of the platform. The role demands for them to be artistically talented and to possess a good technical understanding of the tools at their disposal.</p></br> [/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/31

Kudos to that guy, making animations to be flowy, easy to read and good looking is very hard to accomplish. Even more in MB where combat is so important in its action/reaction system. So far the videos have been satisfying but I have 2 suggestions to make and since this is an animation blog post, i'll drop them here:

1) This does not have to do with the quality but more with the quantity. Would it be possible to have more idle stances, running and walking animations? It's a bit stupid looking in general to see everybody in a big battle to run, walk and stand the game.

2) It would be really great to enhance immersion with taunt animations, like sword to shield bash, point and provoke etc. They should not be spammable though.

Good. This is exactly what I wanted to see:

MitchellD, where are you? Here's the example script you desired so...

Looks a lot like Unity, which is good. Behaviours are attached to objects component-wise, and one gets to override specific functions. For those wondering, I'm betting hard money on "dt" meaning "delta time", i.e. the time between the last frame and this one. "MatrixFrame" is obviously analogous to the "transform" component in Unity, and holds the translation/rotation/scale information, likely amongst other things. Parenting and hierarchy? Probably supported in some way too, but we'll have to wait and see.

I love being correct when I predict things.

Animations look cool!! I can't wait for the Khuzait faction preview, undoubtedly faction previews will be most remarkable part of this blog after the game released.

MB3 confirmed! (jk, just look at the editor path)

great blog. The screenshots on this one are amazing as they show both the game stuff and tech stuff like editors in action. More screens on future blogs like this

Exactly. Been saying that for a long time now. It will add tremendous immersion to have more indepth and realistic reactions and movements and battle clashes. It will be realy pathetic if its just these pathetic bot-like creatures mechanically hitting, blocking and walking and thats it. How about pushing? How about using the handle of your weapon as an alternative melee? How about ducking? How about your acceleration while running slowly speeding up instead of being instant? How about variations in bots' animations? How about side stepping or turning your shoulder to avoid a hit? How about finishing moves? How about moves like combos that depend on your body's position and key strokes? etc etc

Nice blog. Great images. Keep it up - but release the game at some point.

Only one problem...I am going to spend too much time just gawking at everything...likely will lead to a few deaths in battle.

And not only animation and physical contanct variety. But behaviors as well. Taunting. Battlecries. Scaring the opponent/Demoralisation. Moralising your troops or the bot sub-commanders of your army doing that at harsh times. (and that having actual in-game boost+ effect. not just be there for impression). The battle should have the feeling of progression and not be a linear thing throughout from start to end. (Like the morale should evolve upwards or downwards depending on the progression of the battle and that should show to the troops' efficiency and courage. Also the bots' AI should adapt their tactics depending on the stage of the battle/siege). Would REALLY add in the immersion.

This is how I see the blogs till the end of the year.
- Faction preview (nxt wk)
-Interview
- Faction

This continues till mid way of December then

- Being able to play the game (10%)
- Being told they don't work with release date (15%)

"I won’t go into detail about script components for now as we are thinking about publishing a detailed guide about modding. However, I will share a simple example for now."

DOOooooooooooooooooooooo it!

The tool looks great and a guide will get modding off to a faster start!.

Developers, and you read what they write to you on blogs?
I want to write to artists, if they are reading this blog.
Did you guys ever see how the leaves grow on the tree? Did not see? Then you task - go, and see how the leaves grow on the tree.

At you all leaves on a branch are located in one plane. So happens when leaves specially dry under pressure - this is called the herbarium.

Artists, do not be offended that I criticize you. There are many people who praise your work.
But someone must tell you about the mistakes. To say, not to offend, but to help do well your work
