Very interesting mod, well done!

I have not encountered huge bugs either; there are some minor issues with the map in certain spots (sometimes you end up tangled in impassable terrain tiles which are non supposed to be, at least visually) and confrere knights have a higher weapon skill than the actual upgraded knights.

I've noticed nothing else at the moment. Keep up the great work!

oh and making lances "crush through" was the best idea ever, now they are much more viable in unmounted combat too

The "higher weapon skill" is in 2-h and polearms not 1-h can you confirm that? I have the weapons defined for them in different ways but that should be fixed now, just need confirmation about this.

I confirm. In my game skills are as follows

Confrere: 155 135 145

Knight: 150 130 130

They are probably inverted... :p

Yeah well it's fixed for next version, now the upgraded one will be much better ^^

I'm really liking the mod so far, but the battles are a little bit all over the place.

Do you have any plans of making the AI fight in formations the same way that 1257 AD does?

Or you could check PBOD options and turn AI Formations on because I have it off by default? You guys should check always the mod options first of anything before starting playing a mod  I believe it's the same as 1257 AD it's just off by default because it can be a bit buggy and not everyone play around with mod options -_-' I guess I'll add this to "Tips" in next version.

Thats the thing, I checked the mod options before posting but the battles still play the way they do in vanilla for some reason. Thats literally the only reason I posted. I assumed that you were using a different kind of "formation AI" to that of 1257.

New version (v0.6) released: many new items, tweaks and fixes, voice acting in battles (testing feature and incomplete), new companions, new battlefields, battle flags, much more.

 awesome update bro...

however, the current faction banners for the Ayyubid's and Seljuqs are incorrect and written in reverse,
it would be more appropriate to  replace them with a golden eagle for the Ayyubids
and a double headed eagle for the Seljuqs, like this one ...

here are more references for Saracen flags

 http://www.warfare.altervista.org/WRG/Crusades-65-Saracen_Standards.htm

as I said before, Ayyubid and Seljuq helmets where exactly the same, turbans were used by Seljuqs,
and Saladin introduced the sharbush hat into Egypt. would be great to give it to most light horse archers
and commanders of both factions too.

The following helmet styles became common to both cultures.

 http://www.warfare.altervista.org/WRG/Crusades-58-Mamluk_in_full_armour.htm

giving crossbowmen to both factions would be great too

 http://www.warfare.altervista.org/WRG/Crusades-45-Saracen_Crossbowman.htm

 good luck!

That would be the case during the time of the Fatimids.
But during the time of Saladin, these helmets were equally popular
in Egypt, the Levant, Persia and even as far as northern India!
here is a cavalryman from the Delhi sultanate...

gwxn.jpg

They are depicted in manuscripts, coins, murals and military manuals of the time.
Some of these designs like the mighfar helmet with fixed neck protection where around since
before the Seljuqs while sharbush hats and helmets with attached neck protection became
popular throughout the middle east until the 14th century.

 here are examples from the life of Saladin...

If this was a mod on the 100 years war -
the only difference between English, French,
Burgundian and German factions...would be
Heraldry and Language while the armor
would generally be similar in that given region.

 will more factions be added in the future?

I don't know, next version will just be a replacement with everything I can use from CWE, I'll also add the crusader voices. I'll also look into replace some vanilla stuff I had overlooked until now like the tournaments weapons and civil clothes.

Good luck with the mod, I was so looking forward to CWE for years. It's sad that it's dead, but i'm glad that you're making good use of their OSP. I'll be keeping my eye out on this mod. The progress is looking great already.
