[anchor=tag1]BEHAVIOUR RULES[/anchor]

[anchor=tag2]§ 1 Maturity and Respect[/anchor]

(1) Players should respect both the letter and the spirit of the rules. The responsibility for ensuring that this happens lies not with one individual - it involves captains, players and referees. It is through discipline, control and mutual respect that the Spirit of the Game flourishes and these are the qualities which forge the fellowship and sense of fair play essential to the Game’s ongoing success and survival.
(2) In order to maintain a serious and professional environment players must be respectful and polite towards their opponents on the ECS Subboard and the ECS Servers. If a player shows a poor attitude and displays rudeness or immaturety he or she will be punished by the tournament administration. The range of punishments reaches from a warning to a ban from of the tournament, depending on the weight of the crime.
(3) On ECS servers, streams and forum players are advised they should refrain from using language (including team or player names) that is obscene, foul, vulgar, insulting, threatening, abusive, libellous, slanderous, defamatory or otherwise offensive or objectionable.
(4) Any team that uses, incites or benefits from disruption to the matches, practice sessions or organisation of other teams will face disciplinary action at the admins discretion, up to and including disqualification from the tournament.

[anchor=tag3]§ 2 Cheating[/anchor]

(1) It is strictly prohibited to gain an advantage by modifying texture files or using game modifications such as aimbots or autoblock. Every player that is found to have modified texture files or using game modifications in order to gain an advantage will be banned from the tournament.
(2) In case you are unsure whether your game modification is allowed, ask the administration for clarification in your specific case.
(3) Modified crosshairs and bannerpacks are excluded from this rule.
(4) When requested by the match referee players must take a screenshot of their game view while holding any kind of ranged weapon or, if they have no ranged weapon, their melee weapon, spear or lance. Players should ensure the screenshot contains the referee message, the scoreboard and buildings or players. Concerned players must post their screenshot within 30 minutes of the match ending on the forums or send it to a tournament admin or the match referee. Failing to comply with any part of this rule will result in a one match ban for that player.
(5) If a player is found to have broken any of the rules during a match and the admins determine that a significant advantage was gained, that player’s team will forfeit the relevant rounds.

[anchor=tag4]TOURNAMENT FORMAT[/anchor]

[anchor=tag5]§ 3 Qualifiers Format[/anchor]

(1) The teams that signed up for the qualifiers will be split into four qualifying groups containing six teams each. The winner of each group progresses to the ECS groupstage.
(2) The qualifying groups will be played in a single elimination bracket, group assignment and placement within the bracket will be random.
(3) Maps and factions will be determined using a random number generator and they will all be selected in advance. Each of the fixtures will contain one open or mixed map and one closed map.

[anchor=tag6]§ 4 Tournament Format[/anchor]

(1) The European Championship Series consists of a group stage followed by a single elimination bracket. The winner of the final will be titled "European Championship Series Champions".
(2) The groups will be determined during a special Draw Night. Teams competing will be put into different pots, depending on their seeding. A team from each pot will fill a group, meaning that teams will not be fighting the other teams in their pot until the knockout stage. The selection will be done using a random number generator and each selection will be announced individually. The order of proceedings will begin with pot 1 and work our way upwards to pot 4.
(3) To determine placements within the groups, there will be three stages of matches. In the first stage, the teams within the groups will be randomly organised into two matches. In the second stage, the winners of these matches will play each other and so will the losers. The loser of the losers' match is then placed in 4th and the winner of the winners' match is placed in first. In the third stage, the loser of the winners' match and the winner of the losers' match play off to determine who will be placed 2nd and 3rd.
(4) For the Single Elimination Bracket teams will be organised such that the 1st and 2nd teams from each group do not meet each other again until the final. Therefore the Quaterfinals and Semifinals are determined as follows.

  • Quarterfinals
    • Quarterfinal 1: Winner Group A versus Runner Up Group D
    • Quarterfinal 2: Winner Group B versus Runner Up Group C
    • Quarterfinal 3: Winner Group C versus Runner Up Group B
    • Quarterfinal 4: Winner Group D versus Runner Up Group A

  • Semifinals
    • Semifinal 1: Winner Quarterfinal 1 versus Winner Quarterfinal 2
    • Semifinal 2: Winner Quarterfinal 3 versus Winner Quarterfinal 4

[anchor=tag7]§ 5 Flag Spawning[/anchor]

A flag cannot spawn in the same place two rounds in a row.

[anchor=tag8]§ 6 Scheduling[/anchor]

(1) Team A have time until Tuesday, 18.00 BST to offer three or more days. One day has to be either Saturday or Sunday. They have to pick two times for each day from the preset times. However, they can offer more times if they wish to do so.1
(2) Team B have time until Tuesday, 24.00 BST to pick a day and time.
(3) The preset times Team A can pick from are 17.00 BST, 18.30 BST and 20.00 BST.
(4) If a team has not scheduled in time, their opponents have time until tuesday, 24.00 BST to pick date and time. If both teams do not schedule, the admin team reserve the right to pick a time for the match.
(5) Teams are not allowed to agree on a match date that is after the deadline unless allowed by the tournament administration.

[anchor=tag9]§ 7 Maps & Factions[/anchor]

(1) The maps will be picked by the teams themselves during a Pick Night held on Monday.
(2) Both teams have 2 vetoes to ban out a map from the complete map pool. Team A vetoes the first map, Team B a second map, Team A a third map and, finally, Team B a fourth map. Then Team A picks the first map and Team B the second map.1
(3) Factions will be preselected for both maps.

[anchor=tag10]ROSTER RULES[/anchor]

[anchor=tag11]§ 8 Team Rosters[/anchor]

(1) Every team has to provide the tournament administration with a roster consisting of eight or more players and their respective in game IDs at least 24 hours before their first match. Teams that fail to do so are not eligible to play their first official match and have to forfeit the match resulting in a default loss for that team and a default win for their opponents.
(2) If a team fails to provide the tournament administration with the roster the next week as well, they will be suspended from the tournament.
(3) Should a player not be on a roster and play for a team, then the player will be treated as a member of that team and will be added to their roster.

[anchor=tag12]§ 9 Transfers[/anchor]

(1) Any player who has not yet played in an ECS match may join a team at any time. However, once a player has played for one team they may not play for another team during this ECS.

[anchor=tag13]§ 10 Multiteaming[/anchor]

It is strictly prohibited for a player to play for more than one team at any given point during the tournament. If a player is found to be on the roster for more than one team that player will be disqualified for the rest of the tournament, teams who have accepted a player already on the roster of another team will face sanctions at the admin’s discretion up to and including disqualification from the tournament.

[anchor=tag14]MATCH RULES[/anchor]

[anchor=tag15]§ 11 Match Server[/anchor]

(1) All matches must be played on dedicated ECS servers. It is not allowed to play an official tournament match on another server, unless a tournament administrator agreed beforehand. Teams that play on a server other than an ECS Server without permission may face sanctions at the admin’s discretion, however this punishment will be mitigated if they provide the tournament administration with the server logs of the match day before Monday 16.00 BST of the following week.
(2) Both teams have to agree to play on a particular server. If the teams cannot agree on a particular server, they have to ask a referee or tournament administrator for a decision.

If a team fails to turn up with at least five players 15 minutes after the agreed match start, the other team has to contact an admin immediately and will be awarded a default win. A team that fails to turn up with at least five players for the first time will be given a warning, the second time they will be suspended from the tournament.
(2) Teams are not obligated to wait more than 5 minutes between maps and sets. Teams are allowed to enforce a restart after these periods of waiting.

[anchor=tag19]§ 15 Match Format[/anchor]

(1) Every match is 16 rounds long. This will consist of 8 rounds on each of the selected maps for that week. After four rounds, the teams swap spawns and factions.
(2) Each team may field up to 8 players. Teams with less than 8 players may play on or forfeit the match. Each team must start each set with at least 7 players or forfeit the set, the other team is not obliged to match their number of players.

[anchor=tag20]§ 16 Substitutions[/anchor]

(1) Substitutions are only allowed between each set without restrictions. If a team substitutes a player during a set, documented by screenshots or streams for example, that team will forfeit the relevant rounds.
(2) If a player crashes on game, substitutions can be made after the round has ended though this is limited to one substitution per round.3 If a player crashed on game and the team substitutes him in the same round or two players crashed on game and the teams substitutes both of them in the same round, documented by screenshots or streams for example, that team will forfeit the relevant rounds.

[anchor=tag21]§ 17 Tie Breaker[/anchor]
