World map camera zoomed-in angle adjustment 1.04

Want to be able to look across the landscape?  Open module.ini and find:

map_min_elevation = 0.5  #maximum zoom 0.5

Change 0.5 to 0.1.

I was wondering if anyone had any tweaks to make Morale redundant. Its starting to irritate me and is restricting an otherwise a great time with this game. 
 
Just the whole thing in general. Any way to tweak the base morale to some huge number so that its no longer an issue. I remember you could tweak it in Native but I can't find anyone who knows how to tweak it in VC. Say that each leadership point puts the base up 500 morale. That way Morale is more or less doesn't matter.
 
Yeah, that's doable. There are several threads floating around that can show you how to do that manually IIRC, if I can manage it then anyone probably can  :grin:

In scripts.txt, the 50 is probably base moral, the 12 is probably leadership bonus, the 15 probably leadership bonus when king. That's presuming it's the same as native, which it may not be.

That's how I remember it, I usually change the 12 to about 15-18 and the 15 to 25 (cos screw it, I'm the king!).
 
Change the negative effect companions have on each other's morale Reforged/2.0

In triggers.txt find this section and change the red 100 (it's a ":grievance_divisor",) to something higher.

I tried setting it to 99999 and with all companions each one was 'content' with my choice of companions. You will still get the dialog saying "I hate X person", just ignore it.  Also they can still try and leave if their morale gets low enough for other reasons.  This tweak is useful for if you are sending your companions on missions and so can't use the previous tweak, or if you want non-clashing companions but to still have the challenge of keeping them happy enough to stick around.


Also the 'recruit all viking types' tweak has been updated for 1.04 thanks to BOOMHEADSHOT.
 
Replace tournament spear tested in reforged beta, but probably any version

In item_kinds1.txt find this entry:

Then just replace everything except itm_practice_lance with the data from another arena weapon, sword or whatever you prefer. It should look something like this:

Replace with:

XX is your fixed value. You will change it from a dynamic value based on how much you stolen from your man  to a fixed number like 10 (loses 10 morale).

I've changed the highlighted value to fixed value of 10, but it's still dynamic (I guess that's not the right code for it?)

Hi there, new one here.

I did this "village recruits tweak" from the main post, but it seems its not working. Now after i assembled an army and i conquered Dunwic, i noticed that in Dunwic i get Angle recruits, but in the village(Dun Ham South) im getting Norse recruits.  :shock:

Im 100% sure, that before i took down Dunwic the village was giving me Angle recruits, because i had my refuge close to Dunwic and i recruited from East Engle villages.

I tried to wait a while, recruited and waited and so on, but it just gives Norse. I dont want Norse, plus it causes morale drop because they are evil(pagan)  :smile:

Any help would be appreciated. Tnx
 
Havent joined anyone, although i received offers, declined. Dunwic was my first step toward my own kingdom. So no.

Had a look myself but couldn't find where it is.

1.04 new recruting system now takes renown, relations, religion, charisma, leadership, ....... into account to choose which troop AND how many soldiers  :iamamoron:

But it seens conquered towns/castles are not switching to the player support faction culture. Seens like a bug. I will ask on the feedback thread.

I modded it to get the player's faction instead. But gonna wait on devs reply.

But the tweak from OP i followed it to the letter, no mistakes there. Im playing 1.04 version.

 
Ok, so I'm pretty certain the player independent faction's culture is set to 'Norse' by default, even if you choose another ethnic background (I had this problem myself).  Normally in VC this wouldn't make a difference since you're supposed to just get whatever type  originally live there, it's only with this tweak (combined with being an independaet kingdom) it becomes an issue.

Basically you can choose to get norse guys from your villages (with the tweak) or the culture troops who lived there originally (untweaked). You can reverse it no problem.
 
On the start of the game, i chose Foreigner. Ok, i could and i will. But lets say i conquer West seaxe town next, they have Saxon recruits, would i get Angle or Saxon recruits?
 
The town would have saxon recruits since you haven't altered that. The attached villages would have norse, unless you reversed the tweak in which case they would have saxon.

Or you can use the save editor to change the culture of your kingdom to whatvere you want, then with the tweak you would get those troops from all your villages. I think.
 
So, tweak doesnt work then. I guess ill have to revert it and recruit only from original East engle villages.
Thats too bad, but i do hope you(or someone) comes with a solution if its possible.  :party:

The tweak should work as intended, it just so happens that the player's faction culture is set to Norse for some reason. If you want to get angle troops from all the villages you conquer then set your kingdoms culture to angle using the save editor.
