Welcome to the Week 8 pick night thread! The rules are quoted below but the main things you need to know is that teams now have a shorter time period in which to pick and that we've refined the options if a team fails to pick. This should mean that teams failing to pick won't be a problem. Best of luck!

§ 3 Fixtures & Pick Night

(1) The fixtures themselves are made by the teams during "Pick Nights". These Pick Nights take place every Monday between 18.00 and 20.00 BST or respectively GMT. Each team is allotted a timeslot of two minutes to pick their opponents. (2) Picking order is prioritised as follows.

Teams with 0 points that were in the WNL the previous week.

Teams that have joined the WNL in the current week.

After these, teams will pick in order of points from lowest to highest.

Should teams have equal priority, then the team with the most rounds won is given priority.

For the first pick night, the teams are given a randomised order in which to pick.

(3) Teams may not pick a team they played against in the previous week or a team more than two levels above them, unless there is no other alternative. (4) If a team misses their pick or makes an invalid pick, their pick is randomised from any of the next 3 teams in the picking order that lost their latest match or are new to the ladder. Failing that, the pick is taken from the next team in the picking order that lost their last match or is new to the ladder. Failing that, the pick is randomised from any of the next 3 teams in the picking order. (5) If a team only has two teams to choose from and one of the teams sat out the previous week, they must pick that team. (6) If the league has an odd number of the team, the team that has first pick will be get a default win.

Teams should use the following template when making their pick or "selection":

The following are the timeslots allotted to each clan. Whilst it is preferable that each team picks, they will not be punished for failing. Instead they will have a team randomly selected with the conditions stated in the above rules.

Yeah.
Smth needs to be done to avoid low teams picking top-7 "just for fun" (top-7 theoretically can climb to 1st place). Or at least to avoid weak teams pick top-2, to save some kind of intrigue

No. Agincourt had one good opponent so far (SRC) and got trashed by them

Different for Castellans. They won against FoE, SRC and us (Aquila). That's not bad at all.

And we played H&I (got stomped though). Agincourt can actually win this tournament with just playing low level teams, thats pissing me off...
Agincourt above IR/Aquila/Wonwokie/FoE/H&I is already a pain in da arse to look at. that perfectly says a lot about this system.

Anyhow, lets see how this picking night will end.

You wouldn't have gotten extra points for beating Agincourt this week. You only get extra points for teams 2 levels or higher.

I agree the level system is kind of borked this season though.
