Integrated to dedicated: how do I switch?

Users who are viewing this thread

Today I bought a Lenovo Laptop, and when I run "dxdiag", it tells me I run Intel Integrated graphics, that while I also got a dedicated Radeon 8500. How do I switch from the integrated GPU to the dedicated one?

Note that I have a "Switchable graphics" option when I right click on the desktop. It opens some app settings where I can choose between maximum performance and battery life. Does that mean that my dedicated graphics card runs only when assigned to high performance?

the context menu on certain .exe files in my configuration lets me choose "run with graphics processor" and then either my integrated or my nvdia card, and also offers an option to "change standard processor" which opens up the nvdia control panel for that setting...I'd guess Radeon offers something similar and if it doesn't, nvdia is obviously proven to be superior.
