[anchor=tag1]Behaviour Rules[/anchor]

[anchor=tag2]§ 1 Maturity and Respect[/anchor]

In order to maintain a serious and professional environment players must be respectful and polite towards their opponents on the WNL Subboard and the WNL Servers. If a player shows a poor attitude and displays rudeness or immaturety he or she will be punished by the tournament administration. The range of punishments reaches from a warning to a ban from of the tournament, depending on the weight of the crime.

[anchor=tag3]§ 2 Cheating[/anchor]

(1) It is strictly prohibited to gain an advantage by modifying texture files or using game modifications such as aimbots or autoblock. Every player that is found to have modified texture files or using game modifications in order to gain an advantage will be banned from the tournament.
(2) Modified crosshairs are excluded from this rule.

[anchor=tag4]Tournament Rules[/anchor]

[anchor=tag5]§ 3 Tournament Format[/anchor]

(1) The Warband Native League is a ladder. The top team will be titled "WNL Champions" and will receive the prize from our sponsor Phreaky. Teams are sorted in the ladder firstly by total points, secondly by rounds won and finally by round difference.
(2) There will be a playoff between the top two teams at the end of the tournament if any of the following criteria are met:

  • The first placed team has a losing record against the second placed team and they are within 2 or less points of each other.
  • The top two teams have yet to play against each other and are within 2 or less points of each other.

[anchor=tag6]§ 4 Level System & Awarded Points[/anchor]

(1) Teams are assigned levels according to how many matches they have won.

  • Level 0: 0 Wins
  • Level 1: 1 Win
  • Level 2: 2 Wins
  • Level 3: 3 Wins
  • Level 4: 4 or 5 Wins
  • Level 5: 6 Wins
  • Level 6: 7 or 8 Wins

(2) Teams are awarded 0 points for a loss and 1 point for a draw, irrespective of team level. Teams that beat an opponent of the same, a lower level or one level higher then themselves receive 3 points. Teams that beat an opponent two or more levels higher than themselves are awarded 4 points.

[anchor=tag7]§ 5 Fixtures & Pick Night[/anchor]

(1) The fixtures themselves are made by the teams during "Pick Nights". These Pick Nights take place every Monday between 18.00 and 20.00 BST or respectively GMT. Each team is allotted a timeslot of two minutes to pick their opponents.
(2) Picking order is prioritised as follows:

  • Teams with 0 points that were in the WNL the previous week.
  • Teams that have joined the WNL in the current week.
  • After these, teams will pick in order of points from lowest to highest.
  • Should teams have equal priority, then the team with the most rounds won is given priority.
  • For the first pick night, the teams are given a randomised order in which to pick.

(3) Teams may not pick a team they played against in the previous week or a team more than two levels above them, unless there is no other alternative.
(4) If a team misses their pick or makes an invalid pick, their pick is randomised from any of the next 3 teams in the picking order that lost their latest match or are new to the ladder. Failing that, the pick is taken from the next team in the picking order that lost their last match or is new to the ladder. Failing that, the pick is randomised from any of the next 3 teams in the picking order.
(5) If a team only has two teams to choose from and one of the teams sat out the previous week, they must pick that team.
(6) If the league has an odd number of teams, the team that has first pick will be awarded a default win.
(7) If two teams fail to play their match within the deadline, for the purposes of the next pick night they will be treated as if they had won their match and lost all rounds.

[anchor=tag8]§ 6 Scheduling[/anchor]

(1) Teams have until Thursday 19.00 BST to notify the tournament administration about the date and time of their match in the "Scheduling" thread for that respective week. If a team is not able to contact their opponent before the deadline, they must post a short message explaining the situation. Should the opponent fail to make their presence known by the deadline, then teams will be able to select a date of their choice that lies within the deadline.
(2) The thread can be used for all of a teams scheduling communication or they may simply post the date and time of their match there.
(3) Teams are not allowed to agree on a date for their official match after the deadline unless allowed by the tournament administration.

[anchor=tag9]§ 7 Maps & Factions[/anchor]

(1) Factions and maps are determined in advance for each week using a random number generator. Each match includes one closed and one open map.
(2) The following is a list of the maps and factions that are used:

  • Maps
    • Closed Maps
      • Nord Town

[anchor=tag10]Roster Rules[/anchor]

[anchor=tag11]§ 8 Team Rosters[/anchor]

(1) Every team has to provide the tournament administration with a roster consisting of eight or more players and their respective ingame IDs at least 24 hours before their first match. Teams that fail to do so are not eligible to play their first official match and have to forfeit the match resulting in a default loss for that team and a default win for their opponents.
(2) If a team fails to provide the tournament administration with the roster the next week as well, they will be suspended from the tournament.
(3) Should a player not be on a roster and play for a team, then the player will be treated as a member of that team and will be added to their roster.

[anchor=tag12]§ 9 Transfers[/anchor]

(1) Transfers may be requested by the players themselves or the Captain of his designated new team, though in this case the tournament administration needs confirmation from the player himself or the Captain of his old team.
(2) A player is able to play for his new team once the tournament administration has confirmed the requested transfer. The player is not allowed to play for his new team if the tournament administration did not confirm the transfer, unless the player is told otherwise by a tournament administrator. Players and teams that do not follow this procedure will be treated as multiteamers, see § 10, and punished accordingly.
(3) If a player moves from one team to another and has already played a match during the week then he cannot play another match of the same week for the other team.
(4) Players may only switch team once during the tournament and they may only do this until Week 5. Once Week 5 started teams may only add players to their roster who have not played in the tournament. This rule also applies to the potential Playoff match.

[anchor=tag13]§ 10 Multiteaming[/anchor]

It is strictly prohibited for a player to play for more than one team at any given point during the tournament. On the first occurrence of a player being found to play for more than one team that player will be suspended for up to three official matches. On a subsequent occurrence of that player found to play for more than one team that player will be suspended for the rest of the tournament. The second team to field the player will be deducted 3 points. If a team is found to have violated the rule a second time that team will be suspended for the rest of the tournament.

[anchor=tag14]Match Rules[/anchor]

[anchor=tag15]§ 11 Match Server[/anchor]

(1) All matches must be played on dedicated Warband Native League servers. It is not allowed to play an official tournament match on another server, unless a tournament administrator agreed beforehand. Teams that play on a server other than a WNL Server without permission will be deducted 3 points, however this punishment will be reduced to 1 point per team if they provide the tournament administration until Monday 16.00 BST of the following week with the server logs of the match day.
(2) Both teams have to agree to play on a particular server. If the teams cannot agree on a particular server, they have to ask a referee or tournament administrator for a decision. The standard match server location for matches between North American and European teams is France.
(3) Whilst booking a server is not mandatory, teams that booked a particular server will be given priority to play on this server in case another teams is already playing there or wants to play there. The team that did not book the server has to leave the server if the other team forces them to do so. Teams that refuse to leave the server even though another team with higher priority wants to play on this server will be deducted three points.
(4) The following server settings have to be used during official matches: Combat Speed: Medium, Friendly Fire: %100, Round Time: 240 seconds, Game Type: Battle, Respawn time: 8 seconds, Gold: All set to %100, Camera: team member’s view, forced MoF spawn at 2 minutes.

[anchor=tag16]§ 12 Referees[/anchor]

Referees are available on request but are not mandatory. Requests for a referee can be made towards the Administrator for Referees (Folms in this case) by either team’s captain or a potential streamer.

[anchor=tag17]§ 13 Spectators[/anchor]

(1) Spectators are allowed by default. However, if one team requests to have no spectators their request must be granted and all spectators have to leave the server. Should a player refuse to leave the server, documented by footage for example, he will be suspended for one official match. §§ 13 III and 13 IV are excluded from this rule.
(2) Spectating the match by joining a team after the spawn period is not allowed at any given point. Is a player found spectating by joining a team, documented by footage for example, he will be suspended for one match.
(3) Tournament administrators do not need to get permission to spectate a game.
(4) Referees and Streamers do not need to get permission to spectate a game, but they have to notify the relevant teams before joining.

[anchor=tag18]§ 14 Gathering Players[/anchor]

(1) Both teams have 15 minutes to gather their players on the agreed server. If a team fails to turn up with at least five players 15 minutes after the agreed match start, the other team has to contact an admin immediately and will be awarded a default win. A team that fails to turn up with at least five players for the first time will be given a warning, the second time they will be  suspended from the tournament.
(2) Teams that fail to show up at all and fail to give adequate reasons will be suspended from the tournament immediately.
(3) Teams are not obligated to wait more than 10 minutes between maps and 5 minutes between sets. Teams are allowed to enforce a restart after these periods of waiting.

[anchor=tag19]§ 15 Match Format[/anchor]

(1) Every match is 16 rounds long. This will consist of 8 rounds on each of the selected maps for that week. After four rounds, the teams swap spawns and factions.
(2) Each teams may field up to 8 players. Teams with less than 8 players may play on or forfeit the match. The other team is under no obligation to match the other team's numbers. A team is not allowed to go under 5 players at any given point. If a team goes under 5 players they have to forfeit the match, and the remaining rounds will be added in favour of their opponent to the final score.

[anchor=tag20]§ 16 Substitutions[/anchor]

(1) Substitutions are only allowed between each set without restrictions. If a team substitutes a player during a set, documented by screenshots or streams for example, for the first time, the relevant rounds count as lost, for the second time the relevant rounds count as lost and they will be deducted three points, and for the third time they will be suspended from the tournament.
(2) If a player crashes on game, substitutions can be made after the round has ended though this is limited to one substitution per round. A player counts as crashed once he drops out of the server. If a player crashed on game and the team substitues him in the same round or two players crashed on game and the teams substitues both of them in the same round, documented by screenshots or streams for example, for the first time, the relevant rounds will count as lost, for the second time the relevant rounds will count as lost and they will be deducted three points, and for the third time they will be suspended from the tournament.

[anchor=tag21]§ 17 Tie Breaker[/anchor]

If a match ends in a draw in a playoff situation, see § 5 II, the teams have to play a tie breaker.
  • The tiebreaker has to be played on Winterburg, each team choose their faction without restrictions. The tiebreaker is a first to three. The first team that wins three rounds wins the tiebreaker and thus the match. The standard match size for tiebreakers is 8v8 unless both teams agree to play with more or less players.
  • If both teams agree, the standard tiebreaker method can be replaced by a first to 7 duel. Should they opt to do this then it must be done on the arena map and the fight must take place in the central circle. Players may buy whatever equipment they want to though the gold must remain at 1000.

Players that are found to use glitches and/or bugs during a trainingsmatch, documented by footage or videos for example, will be suspended for one match.

27/10/14 - Team Rosters

Teams now have to provide the tournament administration with a roster themselves. We will not add whole rosters through the logs anymore.

§ 9 said:
(1) Every team has to provide the tournament administration with a roster consisting of at least eight players and their respective ingame IDs until one day before their first match. Teams that fail to do so are not eligible to play their first official match and have to forfeit the match resulting in a default loss for that team and a default win for their opponents.
(2) If the team fails to provide the tournament administration with the roster the next week as well, they will be suspended from the tournament.
(3) Should a player not be on a roster and play for a team, then the player will be treated as a member of that team and will be added to their roster.

27/10/14 - Multiteaming

Clarified § 11 regarding punishment.

§ 11 Old Wording said:
If that player was already on another team's roster then the team and the player will face punishment, likely a ban for one week to a ban for the rest of the tournament, though that is down to the discretion of the admins.
§ 11 New Wording said:
It is strictly prohibited for a player to play for more then one team at any given point during the tournament. If a player is found to play for more then one team the first time, the player will be suspended for one up to three official matches. If a team makes unauthorized substitutions during a set, the relevant rounds count as lost. If you find your opponent is committing these kind of offences please contact a tournament admin or referee immediately.
§ 17 New Wording said:

(2) If a player crashes on game, substitutions can be done after the round has ended though this is limited to one substitution per round. A player counts as crashed as he drops out of the server. § 11 I New Wording said:

Spectators are allowed by default.

05/11/14 - Gathering Players

Eliminated the possibility to take an advantage of a loophole within the ruleset by changing the punishment of § 14 I.

§ 14 I Old Wording said:
Both teams have 15 minutes to gather their players on the agreed server. If a team fails to turn up with at least five players 15 minutes after the agreed match start, the other team has to contact an admin immediately and will be awarded a default win. 05/11/14 - Breaks

Outsourced the bits in § 16 I regarding breaks into a new rule under § 14.

§ 16 I Old Wording said:
Substitutions are only allowed between each set, without restrictions, though teams are not obligated to wait more than 10 minutes between maps and 5 minutes between sets. If a team substitutes a player during a set, documented by screenshots or streams for example, for the first time, the relevant rounds count as lost, for the second time the relevant rounds count as lost and they will be deducted three points, and for the third time they will be suspended from the tournament.
§ 16 I New Wording said:

§ 14 III (New Rule) said:
Teams are not obligated to wait more than 10 minutes between maps and 5 minutes between sets. Teams are allowed to enforce a restart after these periods of waiting.

07/11/14 - General Update

Put the Behaviour Section above the other sections as it makes more sense for the general structure of the ruleset. Furthermore I corrected a fair amount of typos and grammatical errors, thanks to Aeronwen for pointing those out.
