What does pressing "t", "Huzzah! You encourage your nearby troops", do?

Is this just a role-playing feature or does it actually do something practical, like increasing combat skills?

it increases their morale value, so they are less likely to route.

So it's really only important, when playing on "Normal" settings? Otherwise you can pretty much wipe the map at a 1:10 ratio.

don't do that when they are in combat, do it in the beginning or when they are not fight in a battle, if you cheer they will cheer, and will leave them vulnerable.

You sure they will cheer even in the middle of the fight and in front of the enemy?
