I have read through the postings on this and am uncertain what to do next.
I am playing the Crusader States and since becoming Marshall I have managed to turn things around in fighting with the Mameluke Sultanate. I currently own a village, a castle and a town. I have slowly been taking over other townships and castles for the Crusader States - even some using only my own troops - but the (not so) dear king is not forthcoming with his gratitude and awards property to others - notwithstanding my 100 rating with him and 995 Renown.
So now I am thinking about branching out on my own. What I cannot figure out is how break away from him and keep my current property. Its probably obvious but how should I go about this? I am using the 'no save' option - hence I do not want to get this wrong.
I also do not fully understand how to go about collecting vassals - can I do this when allied to the King or do I do this after setting up and independent state.
I would appreciate your guidance or possibly a link to where I might be able to find the answers.
