The attitude of several of the teams we scrimmed was poor. We've got better things to do than be trolled on the duel to delay its beginning by non-duellists riding horses into the ring. And certainly better things to do than wait 10 minutes and then have our opponent "fail" to get their full 7 players in on the swap. As happened REPEATEDLY, against one of our opponents. A team lead by a tourney admin, no less. Disgraceful.
The unwillingness of the admin team to enforce rules was a huge problem. This flies in the face of what some others have posted, but the facts are really that the admins stopped doing their jobs to a large extent. Rules about player addition and eligibility were ignored, admins' teams personally benefited from decisions, and the whole thing became a joke. This point really would've been driven home if KoF had pulled a Deathwatch and dissolved, then all joined DoG, instead of just kidding each other about doing so. I realize the tourney admins probably would've endeavored to stop that, but that would've shown a wholly different problem. Selective enforcement is little different than non-enforcement. There must be rules of some kind, or there is chaos. And the people in authority must have the integrity to enforce them, along with the willingness to say no to participants. These qualities were lacking. UNAC 4, if there is one, will need more leadership than this.

I did not see anyone besides Zaffa with the fortitude and willingness to put in the time and effort required. Doesn't mean they weren't there (for instance, I do not know Eternal), but it sure seemed like the tourney was in bad shape even before it began, when William had to resign. However, Zaffa lacked the respect of a significant segment of the constituent community, and was effectively undermined due to this by mid tournament. Ultimately, this meant the job wasn't fully done. Anyone in authority needs both competence and respect to accomplish objectives. Could someone else have done a better job? I am unaware of a feasible person who could've combined both competence and respect. Doesn't mean they weren't there. So, the answer is, your guess is as good as mine.
