Army History
The Dixieland Army is a collection of regiments and brigades forming one cohesive army with the dual aims of having fun and handing it to the Union!
It started with the 15th Alabama from Secession, when the LA Tigers joined they formed the Dixieland Brigade. At the start of North and South more than 10 regiments came with them and formed the Dixieland Corps or 1st Corp of Dixieland. Eventually it was split into two brigades and became the Dixieland Army, the Official Confederate Army of North and South under the leadership of Lieutenant General Jannik and Major General Nytech.
General Mastershot, Colonel of the 15th Alabama led the Dixieland Army for less than a year after both Major General Nytech stopped playing North and South and Lieutenant General Jannik took a break from playing but being made President of Dixieland. During his time, General Mastershot disbanded the brigades but successfully managed to recruit more regiments. He resigned on the 9th of January 2014 for personal reasons relating to his family, recalling the President Jannik to oversee the election of the new General.
Colonel Lucas of the 1st North Carolina assumed command on the 9th to deal with that weeks linebattle and organization until the Army Officers Meeting which duly elected him to Lieutenant General with the President's blessing. On the 11th a new Brigade System was implemented with Brigadier General Reznov of the 19th Louisiana Volunteers forming the 1st Brigade known as The Old Brigade and Colonel Chadric of the 26th North Carolina being Brevetted up to Brigadier General and forming the 2nd Brigade known as Briggs Brigade.
Work continues in the Dixieland Army and together with the Officers and Enlisted, the Command Staff hope to look forward to a new bright future.

During linebattles we use the Dixieland Teamspeak for coordination and all regiments must be on it, especially the Officer in Charge and his second.

How to Join
Joining the Dixieland Army as an individual is easy, just a pick a regiment and speak to its Colonel!
As a regiment/brigade then just fill out a form here and come find me (1st NC Colonel Lucas) on our teamspeak or on Steam (Ser Lucas Avis) to have a word

We provide our own training/linebattle server thanks to the 1st North Carolina who are sponsored by the Forgotten Honor Community and also the Dixieland Teamspeak.
Please note that the server may not be online during the week apart from during linebattles unless specifically asked by a regiment. Just ask me and I shall schedule you in

A note on the Brigade System and on Cavalry
Regiments are asked to join a Brigade after reaching a certain activity rating and being reliable. Regiment numbers are also important, as well as Regimental Geography.
If the majority of your players are North American based we suggest that you join Briggs Brigade as the 26th North Carolina have additional events throughout the week that are not suited to EU players.
Cavalry Regiments are not assigned to a Brigade and are instead assigned to the Confederate Cavalry Corps.
Artillery Detachments of Regiments who join a Brigade are assigned to that Brigades Artillery Battery.
Artillery Regiments are invited to a brigade under the normal Brigade process.

Where is the 2nd Florida here? They are a group in the teamspeak so I would expect them to be here.
