Diplomacy mod: Why do the recruiters die right when i deploy them

I tried to recruit people and the recruiters just... die right when i send them. When i come out of the town it says they have been defeated. I have tried moving my court to see if it was that with no success. There are no enemy parties nearby when it happens. Plz help.

Did you keep your eyes on them?
Are they spawning at all or dying instantly?

Or do they "die" shortly after leaving? It is likely because recruiters can be attacked by bandits / lords, keep your kingdom safe!

they spawn i see them, they stay in the same spot for a second then they all die and it says your recruiters have been killed
